Arterial disease
The condition is too bad to be treated with
angioplasty
so next option is surgery which is life threatening. Would be grateful for anyone's personal experiences of the condition and how they treat it.

Fistulagrams
I have had numerous fistulagrams done with
angioplasty
balloon intervention. However, I have never had a doctor point out this potential risk before! Has anybody ever heard of this associated risk factor before?

Has awareness of Takayasu's by cardiologists improved. I first saw a cardiologist in 2001 but not diagnosed till 2011.
In 2001, at age 54, I started getting angina and within a month I had emergency left main stem bypass surgery followed over the next year by
angioplasty
and a subclavian/carotid bypass due to subclavian blockage.

Is there really no alternative other than exercise for claudication, where angioplasty or arterial bypass are not recommended?
I have been told that the 2 a arteries below my knee are too small to be operated on. I can only walk around 100 yards before having to rest because of extremely painful calves. A few minutes rest, and I can walk another 100 yards or so.

What is Cardiac arrest ? Found this explanation in the copy of today's mail health section.
Heart attack, however, is usually treated with drugs to dissolve clots and restore blood flow to the heart, or surgery to widen the coronary artery, known as

Just needing a moan. Had an awful month. Ended up twice in hospital after a heart attack and had to have an angioplasty and a stent put in.
Plus my bloods came back with a positive ANA and I now have another autoimmune disease to add to my Hashimotos and Coeliac in the form of Lupus. If another doctor had told me that my cholesterol was too high and I had to lose weight I would have screamed. Eventually someone thought to test my thyroid

Has anybody been diagnosed with intermittent claudication and been told that there is nothing that can be done about it?
Small arteries below the knee are somewhat blocked and an
angioplasty
or arterial bypass are not possible. I just have to exercise as much as possible including walking through the paiin barrier, which should improve matters after a few months, but it may nobody improve at all.

Do we have control over this? “Although NHS guidelines tell doctors to treat only the artery which caused the attack, ........?
The procedure, known as preventative
angioplasty
