So I had my angiogram today. Told doctor I had read up on PCI v medical therapy and the fact there’s no difference in outcome - so I don’t want a stent unless it’s absolutely necessary. Anyway, angiogram showed 90% stenosis of the LAD (proximal). When Dr showed me how much vessel would be cut off if

So got two calls from the NHS today - 1 setting my telephone appointment with the cardiologist next week and the 2nd setting my appointment for the procedure the week after. I’m concerned they’ve contacted me quickly because my heart is in more trouble than I’d care to imagine… I know the risk of serious

Angioplasty
I have just been told by my cardiologist that I need to have an
angioplasty
with stent because there is a narrowing of my LAD. I am freaking out - I’m 42 this year and have an 8 year old daughter and a wife who I love very much. I have heard CVD in the LAD is very serious - a widow maker.

Hi everyone, I had a heart attack at the end of November and had three stents put in with one more planned for the end of January. In the main I feel fine, no pain anywhere. Up and about doing slow walks and pottering about. I am however finding it difficult with the side effects of the drugs. Mainly

I had extensive bruising after
angioplasty

Angioplasty not angiogram?
Today I’ve had a letter saying I’m in on the 3rd March for an
angioplasty
, but the thing is we haven’t discussed this and it’s not really what I want.

Waiting time for angioplasty and stent on NHS
Hi all, can anyone advise what the rough waiting time for
angioplasty
and a stent is on the NHS at the moment please? I know waiting times vary widely due to location, severity etc I was just hoping to get a rough ballpark figure. Thanks!

Angiogram vs Angioplasty
Each time I had a stent put in, they started out as angiogram and became
angioplasty
, each time they went in they put in a stent if needed, except that one time when I needed bypass. Now my Cardiologist wants to do an angiogram, then discuss his findings with me then go back and do
angioplasty
.

Referral for Angiogram
After a recent telephone conversation with a cardiologist I am being referred for an angiogram (with
angioplasty
if required). Over the last two years have begun to find hills a little harder.

Post-Clopidogrel symptoms?
It's now 15 months since having an
angioplasty
and starting on Clopidogrel and other related meds. The Clopidogrel prescription has now been stopped, as expected, on review by the Cardio nurse at my GP practice. I have been off Clopidogrel for 2-3 weeks.

Collaterals
During my
angioplasty
I was diagnosed with 2 of the 3 main arteries 85 to 95 % blocked. The third on the right hand side was completely blocked but had already formed collaterals. I therefore received no treatment for the right hand artery.

an anniversary
I ended up with 5 relaxing days in hospital, during the pandemic, plugged into many wires, with lovely caring nurses, and an angiogram/
angioplasty
which revealed two 80% blocked coronary arteries. I had no idea!

Angioplasty tomorrow...in urgent need of advice asap pls
Hi all
angioplasty
booked for tomorrow but not sure if I should go ahead with it or just cancel. Reason for procedure: Doc wants to investigate extent of artery blockage in order to prescribe flecanide medication for afib. If blockage is severe he will fit a stent during the procedure.
