B12 roller coaster...
I've been on a B12 roller coaster for a few years now. My symptoms seem to correlate with when my levels drop but I do not have anemia. I am allergic to B12 shots (had 3 at different times before they had to come to a halt for throat/tongue swelling) and my doc said well, go to a hematologist. I feel

Thyroid finally given up the ghost?
I’ve been taking Vit D since August and I have pernicious
anaemia
so have shots for that. My iron is ina good place. They’ve referred me for an US but it’s an 8 month wait (I complained about pressure and hoarseness back in July).

Is Anyone Using Indivina HRT With Success (no thyroid med interactions and weight gain)?
I am considering trying Indivina HRT due to it being hair growth friendly as I have hair thinning, and also to prevent further bone loss ( I have early onset osteoporosis). If anyone who is hypo and uses Indivina, I would be grateful if they could advise on how successful they are finding it, particularly

More recently my GP arranged blood tests for penicious
anaemia
. I told her I had been supplementing B12 for some while.

Temgesic - Buprenorphine difference
Hello team 😊 I have recently started Temgesic 🥳🥳 and my neuro advised breaking the dose to twice in 24 hours. I made a straight switch, (with a 12 or so hour break from Oxynorm) and so far everything is very positive. After many years of broken sleep, say around 4/5 hours a night, I can now sleep

covid booster
Hi I live in Northern Ireland I was wondering what everyone’s status is with regard to covid boosters. I have had my 2 primary vaccines and 1 booster last November, my GP hasn’t called me for further boosters, and I have been told I’m not on the vulnerable category list, although I was during lock

Has anybody else developed Auto Immune Haemolytic Anaemia with their CLL?

Monocytosis?
Hey folks, I searched but saw no other posts on this. Yesterday had my 6 month check up, new doc, didn't review tests with me but summarized. This morning I saw online that my monocytes have gone sky high (2.0 versus .4 etc.) registering as high on the test as well (in fact, they spike to the same

Had a blood test at GP's, not for CLL
I was called to my GP's for a blood test related to my new heart medication. I also had an Echocardigram and a 24 hour monitoring tape. Surprise, surprise no one seems to know where they have sent the results. I have telephoned every department I can think of but no one admits to knowing anything!!

low B12 - should I ask for injections?
Apparently, I don’t have
anaemia
. Thyroid and Hba1C are normal and so is folate. I have an elevated WBC with raised neutrophils. I wanted your advice before I pestered the GP. Thank you. I’m very grateful.

diagnosis and symptoms
Hello everyone - first post and looking for feedback. I have been low in B12 for some time. I would go to the doctor and told I need to take a supplement or a jab but no one ever looked into why I was deficient so I thought nothing of it. Fast forward to June of this year and I feel terrible - low B12

It is worth persevering!
I thought fellow RLS sufferers would be interested in the following sequence of events. Following advice from people on this website I wrote the following letter to my doctor: "Dear Dr C, I have suffered with severe Restless Legs Syndrome for four months now, often not being able to get to

Hey guys, I am dealing with some of the side effects of a b12 deficiency. I am still awaiting the results from a blood test, testing for intrinsic factor. Most of my symptoms have improved a lot but I am left with a burning pain all down my leg, off balance and most importantly speech difficulty.

Can oral B12 supplements help in a functional B12 deficiency and more q's
As a follow on from my first post here: https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts/148543562/help-with-diagnosis-gp-and-anyone-sought-help-from-private-healthcare , I visited Dr K at Nuffield on Friday at Cambridge and he strongly suspects I have non-autoimmune functional B12 deficiency and based on history

haven’t a clue nurse
I said but I gave pernicious
anaemia
and to my astonishment she looked at me like she didn’t know what it was. I’m so anxious now and have to have blood tests next week to see the results and the way forward.

IMPORTANT: Nicotinamide riboside (or NAD+ or Tru Niagen) may be involved in neoplastic and metastatic processes
Some of us were taking nicotinamide riboside for RLS. A few days ago a paper was published with data suggesting it could be involved neoplastic and metastatic processes. Hence, please take this in consideration if you were taking nicotinamide riboside. Here is the reference: A bioluminescent-based

Seemingly a sudden drop in ferritin but is it really?
15/08/22 Ferritin 236ug/L (13 - 150) Quite a bit over range, so I’m puzzled that a mere 12 weeks later - 16/11/22 - according to the new reference range it has suffered a significant drop to 39% through Yes, I immediately stopped iron supplementation but I continued with acerola to aid with food

Low ferritin question
My (adult) daughter had always suffered from
anaemia
to some extent. Last year her B12 came back at 119 and she had a course of injections. Recently she had been feeling weak, tired and with palpitations and tachycardia, so had blood tests. B12 was 300 and ferritin 9.
