I had covid in July. Since then I have had a tight chest and heavy arms on exercise , when stressed, when eating or suddenly rushing. Firstly I thought maybe it was high BP or angina.
I had the Moderna vaccine on the 4 October and have been far worse since then . Feeling headachy, faint , nauseous. My heart keeps racing.
I started taking my BP and it seems OK at rest but drops with exercise or standing when I start to feel ill and my pulse races. I have the odd sudden high spike but mostly the BP is low to normal but the thudding high pulse rate is odd.
Is this a common reaction to covid in patients with Pernicious Anaemia ? Would more B12 help?
Is this POTS?
seeing the GP on Wednesday.
Any advice is appreciated as I’m feeling quite unwell with it.
Thank you

There is a link to Covid with B12 and it seems to be related to the immune response, i.e. diversity of gut microbiome can improve the immune response. This WHO report suggests Covid-19 can impair immunity in the gut and contribute to B12 metabolism.
I have a good mixed omnivorous diet with vegetables and fruit and kefir. I have a diagnosis of Autoimmune gastritis / PA. Took 10 years to get diagnosed but been on b12 injections since 2012.
I just found the side effects leaflet from Moderna and it does say it can cause pulse irregularities.
I should have got on the case quicker. I see GP in 2 days time. Certainly feeling headachy with a variable BP and pulse.
Sounds kike you did everything you could. GP waiting lists are long, so you only have to wait a couple of days to get some intel.
Hope your Doc understands the impact of Covid on B12D patients.
The main depleters of B12 are stress, alcohol and excercise. So might be worth avoiding all if you can until Weds and resting up in this colder weather.
Hi, it may well be POTS and you can find more information here plus how to test yourself at home if you wish sjogrensadvocate.com/pots.
There are certainly some who think that covid (like other viruses and vaccines) may affect one carbon metabolism (mdpi.com/1422-0067/23/8/418... so yes more B12 and possibly folate may help.
Sorry the second link is not working, not sure why. If you search 'COVID-19 and One-Carbon Metabolism' and look for the MDPI.com result you should find the full article. Cheers
