Below range Active B12, Increasing serum B12, Low folate
Hi My health board (in Scotland) doesn’t use the Active B12 test so they are unwilling to accept the Medichecks test I had done which showed a slightly below range result - 36pmol (37.5 - 188) They have retested my serum B12 and folate: Serum B12 315ng/L (187-883) Folate 2.7 (3-20) My serum

elevated liver enzymes
Does anyone else have experience of raised liver enzymes whilst takin steroids? My recent blood test showed a GGT ( gamma gluts ultrasound transferease) reading of 340. A normal reading should be under 30. It has not been elevated in former blood tests. I am taking 12 mgs defazacort per day. Equivalent

Test results - could someone help please?
Hi! My thyroid is well replaced, but I have been feeling so tired and achy, so I asked my GP to test vitamins. She said all is well. I'm gutted because I feel TERRIBLE. What do you think to these results? Serum Ferritin: 29 (r 20-204) Serum Iron Level: 11.7 (r4.4-27.9) Serum Transferrin: 2.63 (r

Suspected fibromyalgia with severe endometriosis
Blood tests show slight
anaemia
& slightly low vitamin D, even though I religiously take a multivitamin and have been on a prescribed iron supplement. (I probably have a bit of an absorption problem, as I have had part of my bowel removed.)

how do you get PA
hi everyone This may sound like a stupid question but I was wondering what makes you get pernicious anemia? Also is anyone experiencing fatigue whilst still taking the injection, I’ve got to wait another 4 weeks before my next one and I feel so tired

Never mind the adrenals, what about vitamin D?
Good and bad news - good to see ESR and CRP at the lowest levels for many years, but Bad - sub clinical hypothyroidism, looks like I have an underactive thyroid, iron deficient
anaemia
, leaky gut (back on Omeprazole and camera crew going in to check!)

Help with diagnosis (GP) and anyone sought help from private healthcare?
Because I take multi B vits, and additional B12 and folate, my test didn't indicate PA, but other elements indicate PA, or some sort of
anaemia

I think I might need a second opinion regarding my Behçet’s diagnosis & management. What do you think?
When I started my periods in my early teens, I was bleeding non-stop for months at a time, and I was told I was probably exaggerating, until I began collapsing from severe iron deficiency
anaemia
due to the blood loss.

Hydroxocobalamin supplies.
It looks as though the new owners of Panpharma are now concentrating on selling by repackaging their B12 for local sales. In UK its Accord Healthcare. This is probably why we cannot get it from German pharmacies. I cannot tolerate having my vital amine supplies threatened so I have looked elsewhere.

Advice please! (part 2)
I have been diagnosed with
anaemia
and vit D deficiency at different times, and tested for coeliac but no links have ever been made with hypothyroidism! I have had some benefits from going gluten free, but still have some stomach pains/digestive issues, joint stiffness, fatigue and sleep problems.

Reasonable Adjustment and wellbeing at work
For anyone else struggling in the workplace with hypothyroidism and multiple symptoms. I realise I’ve been very lucky, I do worry about being labelled but my only other option would be to reduce my hours which I can’t afford. I’m a teacher in an FE college, almost full time (0.92). A couple of weeks

Anti depressants and RLS
Hi fellow sufferers. I weaned myself off of Sertraline in the summer as partly responsible for worsening my severe RLS. And I had an iron infusion in August. For the last 4-5 weeks I have been symptom free of RLS, though still on 50mg pregabalin. But I find myself at an all time low for other reasons
