I am revisiting "[i]What you need to know about PERNICIOUS ANAEMIA AND B12 DEFICIENCY[/i]" by our wonderful Martyn Hooper.

I am interested to know if anyone found the injection painful? My first was in the thigh and I am wondering if next time to try the arm or stomach area? Or am I just being a big baby?! 🫣

Hi lovely people. Just a question. In the past, I have had v low iron, folate rock bottom and prob other vitamins low that I never had checked. I have worked a lot on my micro biome/gut this past year plus supplementing continuously. I cut out gluten as leaky gut was diagnosed through a test.

My Haemoglobin from back end last year to a month ago was between 116 and 121. Hematocrit was 41%. Haematologist wouldn't give me iron tablets as last time hematocrit jumped uo so fast apparently put me at risk of a stroke. Last blood test a month ago Haemoglobin 132 and Hematocrit 47%. I tested negative for coeliac disease and pernicious anaemia. Since then I continued supplementing with Igennus super B-complex (2 tabs) and vitamin combo D3+K2 (2 tabs, each 4000IU D3 and 250mcg K2).

It showed up in my last blood test with my GP and he prescribed Ferrous Fumerate 210 mg but I felt so ill on them. Nausea and diarreah! Any suggestions please? I know I’m 79

Back in January I was diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia and was put on supplements for 3 months, and then to have a follow up blood test a month after finishing the supplements.

Quick background: B12 deficiency (152) in 2017, negative IFAB, received 2x 3 monthly injections then taken off them. Investigating various symptoms now, recent bloods show drop in B12 from December 2022 (455) to now (206). Doctor saying I just need to take a multivitamin with B12 in, but I am not convinced
