What the heck, Thyroid!?
Well, I found myself in this forum by following bread crumbs left by FancyPants54 Thankfully she's a bit messy with her snacks 😊 I've been on Pernicious anemia forum for the past few years dealing with my PA/AMAG. I think I may have been selected by whomever makes such selections to have the benefit

Folic Acid Deficiency
Hello all, I have always suffered with anxiety and heart palpitations. Recently, they became worse and I went to the GP who sent me for a blood test. The blood test showed that I have folic acid deficiency(<2.0). I've been taking 5mg folic acid for two months (I have two months left to go) and my

Newly diagnosed with low VitB12
Went to the GP a few months back with menopause symptoms. Mainly sleep issues, anxiety, brain fog and fatigue. The doc ordered a full fasting blood count which come back with me having low vitamin B12 (175), low vitamin D. (live in Scotland so most people are) and folic acid levels on the low side although

Really lost - doctor advised me to stop injecting and now B12 keeps going down
Hi everyone, First, I want to say how much this group has been a help and source of comfort and much needed information! Thank you. In Feb 2019 I was diagnosed as having "Vitamin B12 deficiency anemia due to intrinsic factor deficiency." At the time I was 35. My doctor did not say "Pernicious Anemia

Self Injecting Query
I posted earlier about my health problems over the past two years. I saw an old post that said if you have Neuro symptoms then you should get loading doses then a jab every 2 months. This is my NHS regime currently. I've had jabs for about 10 years, was on 3 monthly and was changed to two monthly. "

My rbc and hemoglobin and iron are all high but my mcv hct mch mchc are all. Within range. I tested negative for jak 2 test last year 2022. But because my rbc and hemoglobin are still up my haematology has done a jak 2 exon 12 because they can't under why my bloods are still up. Any information is much

Anyone know anything about ferritin and trans ferritin saturation levels?
Haemoglobin: below 120 g/L for females and below 130 g/L for males indicates
anaemia
Ferritin: below 15 ug/L suggests iron deficiency Transferrin Saturation: below 16% suggests iron deficiency Folate: 3 ug/L or below suggests folate deficiency Active vitamin B12: below 38 pmol/L suggests vitamin

Weaning down off Pregabalin
A medication error occurred when I went to collect my prescription for Pregabelin, and I am not sure that best way to proceed. For the previous three weeks my GP had me on 25mg daily – the low dose is because she said I am very sensitive to medication. As the 25 mg was not controlling my RLS symptoms

Pernicious anaemia, no stomach acid and pain
I think about trying digestive enzymes but don't know where to start. My question is whether my widespread joint and muscle pain is linked to my pernicious
anaemia
or my lack of stomach acid which I presume can cause nutrient deficiencies.

Thyroid cancer, hypothyroidism and kidney function
Hello, I’m usually on the pernicious
anaemia
forum but I’ve been recovering from a diagnostic hemithyroidectomy confirming thyroid cancer. I think I am beginning to enter hypothyroidism in a big way and am waiting for my NHS TSH test results.

What should my optimal vitamin levels be please?
Hi there, I’m trying to get vitamin levels up to hopefully help with poor conversion. Iron was low and I’ve recently retested for that after supplementing for about 3 months. Ferritin is now at 65 ug/L Folate has dropped from >45 a year ago to 8.5ug/L My question is what should they ideally be?

early pregnancy -Hydroxy33
Anybody know if I can inject Hevert 2 ml depot B12 from Germany in early pregnancy? I'm in the USA and the cyanocobalamin injection is the only one I could get otherwise. It has benzyl alcohol etc. here. So, B 12 is not everywhere the same. I just want to make sure I'm injecting the right amount every

Hello, new member
Over the last 2 years I have had tests repeated over and over - all negative so the conclusion is that the
anaemia
is not related to a GI bleed. The only treatment I have really responded to is packed red blood cells transfusion.
