Gabapentin for night leg pain
Hi have been taking
amitriptyline
at night for about 6 years but no longer working. Have been prescribed gabapentin to try but three times a day, does anyone take just a single nighttime dose for overnight pain rather than three? TIA

Anyone had a surgeon who operates on a 'Frozen Pelvis' for a second time?
Amitriptyline
helps me to get to sleep, but the ripping pain wakes me up in the middle of the night. On the diarrhoea days, then I have no chance of any sleep. I'm at my wits end, so any advice would be highly appreciated xx

Part of me thinks I should give the
amitriptyline
a try. Part of me thinks I should push ahead with trying to get a private consultation and a second opinion. Or maybe try the
amitriptyline
and if it doesn't work then go for a private consultation.

Amitriptyline

At the end of my tether.....
During the pandemic I got so much all over pain I paid privately to see my consultant who said it was fibro and gave me a prescription for
amitriptyline
which did nothing for me. I can see now that was a fibro flare up, felt like a terrible flu which wouldn't shift but in time did.

Benefits of nortriptyline
I have tried
amitriptyline
, and now trying nortriptyline as recommended by the GP as he says that the side effects will be less. The physio has suggested pregabalin but I am reluctant to take it. Has anyone taken nortriptyline and if so, have they found it effective? Thank you.

Bad reaction to gabapentin
I do know it won't be
amitriptyline
though, as that made me too spaced, tired and the nightmares were so upsetting! At least I have been given some codeine to help mean time - never had a problem with it - but I know the GPs have guidelines!

Neck stenosis diagnosis
My doctor is going to refer me to spine specialist and I'm taking
amitriptyline
. It feels strange to have deteriorated. so much in such a short time. I don't mind admitting I am frightened about what the future holds for me.

Pregabalin - from 50 mg to 300 mg on my own.
I just wonder why, with
Amitriptyline
been tried, I was not put on this drug 30 years ago! Can anyone out there throw any light on this scenario? Why didn't he put me on the lowest dose to see how I got on?

Do I need a second opinion?
They didn't give my endo a stage, they said I was too young (I'm 25) and that I need to try the pill and prescribed my
amitriptyline
for the pain which I already mentioned I don't tolerate well.

Alternative to Diclomax MR
I was also taking 10mg of
Amitriptyline
in the evening but stopped a few weeks ago incase this was contributing to the problem. I'd like to find an alternative that will work through the night and make my mornings easier.

Sleep Issues
Eventually, I was put on
Amitriptyline
(35 mgs) which helped a lot and I settled in to having to get up twice a night most of the time. For the last couple of years, however, this seems to be increasing to at least 3 times a night and quite often every hour!
