Advice please - My pulse has been racing since very early Sunday morning
I spoke to my GP at length on Monday who advised me to take Metoprolol alongside my
Amiodarone
and Warfarin. Yesterday, with it still racing, I rang to speak to my GP to be told he was at a meeting.

Amiodarone - to be or not to be - is it right for me
I suppose what would swing it for me to take
Amiodarone
is knowing that it would be safer then staying or going into AF again. Does staying in AF do damage to the heart and is my heart at less risk of damage if I take
Amiodarone
.

Exercising Whilst on AF treatment
I stopped taking
amiodarone
as I'm sure it made me put on about 5kg. I remain on bisoprolol and warfarin. I have no idea what the intention of my cardiologist is but I have no desire to remain on medication should there be a procedure that may help.

Have had AF, relieved after cardioversion. Heart rate suddenly gone to about 140. In rural area w/o easy access to Dr.
Taking
Amiodarone
which should keep my heart rate down?

My experience and the four types of treatment available on the NHS
Hi I had a total thyroidectomy way back in October 1999 due to
Amiodarone
a drug designed by the devil to combat Atrial Fibrillation. To be fair in those days there were no treatments around and perhaps this was the only drug available then.

With long QT syndrome, and on Propafenone, does anyone know of an antidepressant that would not make the problem worse. ANY help appreciated
Age 70, male, long standing paroxysmal AFib, can't use
Amiodarone
due to it's propensity to cause thyroid problems and myopathy.Ablation a failure on several occasions.

Thyriod Potassium and Amiodarone
I have just received test results from my doc for Thyroid, one of the tests to be taken whilst on
Amiodarone
These are higher than previous normal results. Does anyone have experience for
Amiodarone
and the Thyroid.

Anyone get over-heated from Warfarin?
I'm on Warfarin and
Amiodarone
(200mg twice a day) ready for Cardioversion next week. But since I started on Warfarin I get over-heated at night especially after getting up in the middle of the night and now with the
Amiodarone
it seems a lot worse - I feel as if I'm about to burst into flames.

INR Results
I guessed my INR was high because I'd been taking massive doses of
amiodarone
1 week 3 tablets per day, 2nd week 2 tablets per day and third week and henceforth 1 tablet per day. Those of you who take
amiodarone
will know that it builds up in your body and affects INR results.

Phew what a day!!
Thank goodness on Pradaxa no TIA, which happened in the past, and
Amiodarone
keeps the HR at a steady 42. So just sat relaxed - methinks and take it steady. Should have been driving 65/70miles later on today to daughters so that's called off.

6 days of hell and it continues
I was immediately put back on the drugs I had taken before my ablation,
amiodarone
, and warfarin, plus digoxin. Then I was transferred onto the general cardiology ward on Monday afternoon, well it was like going into a mental health unit and I was terrified!!

Thyroid returning to normal after Amiodarone withdrawal
Amiodarone
takes many months to leave the system completely after it is withdrawn. Is there anyone else here with experience of coming off
Amiodarone
and how it affected their Thyroid function?

Warfarin at last!
I had my meds changed to Flecainide and Bisoprolol, with Warfarin to be started after 4 weeks clear of my previous meds (
Amiodarone
, Clopidogral, Aspirin and Omeprzole).
