Amiodarone

After replying to another member about not experiencing side effects on Amiodarone, I now have a tingling and pin prick sensation on the back of my hands. Has anybody else experienced this? TIA

Amiodarone

Hi all, I’ve been on Amiodarone since February and supposed to only be on it for 3 months due to my age and the side effects. Over the past week, my vision has become extremely blurry when looking at my phone. Just wondered if this was a common side effect experienced on this drug? Thanks, B

amiodarone. Yes or no

I am reluctant to take the drug amiodarone and I just wondered if anyone had had this procedure or similar and not taken amiodarone. Just how helpful is it in converting to sinus rhythm? Many thanks.

Amiodarone + AFIB

Just wondered if anyone had experienced any adverse effects of taking Amiodarone? I’ve just completed week 1 of the “loading dose” (200mg x 3 times a day).

Amiodarone

The hospital consultant prescribed amiodarone because of arrhythmia/ AF. There is a warning on the box to protect your skin from sunlight because it can cause severe sunburn affect and blistering. also I read that the drug can cause severe side effects.

How long til Amiodarone works?

Wondering what others have experienced with amiodarone. How long did it take to start working? My AF started suddenly Feb 6, progressing quickly to daily. Dronaderone didn’t work. 11 days ago after 6th cardioversion, EP put me on amiodarone despite concerns for my low HR.

ECG Flappy gaps?

NB I was in A&E again late last week over concerns about the Amiodarone vs these (increasingly) frequent “break throughs” of AF and all they said was to ride it out till the ablation on the 22nd. Your thoughts would be most welcome.

Amiodarone

Following the cardioversion my EP reluctantly put me on Amiodarone with the intent to wean me off in 4-6 months. He started me at 200 mg and after a month cut that back to 100 mg.

Back from EP after Cardioversion Failure

Now EP wants to try another Cardioversion in conjunction with amiodarone . I am concerned because I already have neuropathy in feet and fingers and I have read this medicine can worsen that. Anyone with experience with it?

What do Allergists Know about AFIB?

works very well with "amiodarone" and that it might help by helping me not to go into afib as much as I have been.

Amiodarone induced hyperthyroidism

The specialist confirmed hyperthyroidism caused by amiodarone. I’m told the treatment can take months to work. Has anyone out there experienced this and if so what was the outcome ? I would love to hear from you.

Medication

Another option offered to me is Amiodarone. I have reservations about this due to the many side effects. My questions to you all are 1. How likely is it that Amiodarone will control my AF? 2.

Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) and Amiodarone

Risk up with amiodarone versus flecainide or sotalol among seniors with atrial fibrillation receiving apixaban or rivaroxaban For patients with atrial fibrillation receiving apixaban or rivaroxaban, the risk of bleeding-related hospitalizations is greater during amiodarone treatment than flecainide

Presistent atrial fibrilation

I privately saw an electrophysist in January who suggested starting amiodarone followed by a cardio version. I'm having second thoughts about this procedure because so many people say it barely lasts any time.

Insomnia, side-effect of amiodarone?

Has anyone else been affected by amiodarone in this way or for that matter with any other medication? Thank you and hope you’re all doing okay.

Coming off Amiodarone

After being on amiodarone for about 2 years without it having the desired effect of prolonging a cardioversion, my cardiologist has advised, via my GP, that I should stop taking it as of now.
