Newly diagnosed with osteoperosis
Good evening, I have recently been diagnosed with osteoperosis and have been advised that it is likely that my GP will do further tests (Parathyroid being one) then either offer me HRT or Alendronic acid, however I understand that if this is all caused by my parathyroid then no treatment is possible

Confused! Shocked by Dexa Scan Results!
Six months ago, I believed that I was reasonably fit and healthy for a 69 year old. I've always kept active - dancing and walking - and have never smoked. I actually LIKE healthy food and drinking water! I was sent for a Dexa Scan because I noticed my finger joints were swelling and painful after

After waiting at least 6 weeks post covid and one venous sample getting delayed I finally have my test results. I am due an endo appointment soon and last time my endo wanted to reduce levothyroxine to 75microgrammes from 100micro based on TSH alone which I fought because I have no symptoms of being

Alendronic Acid
I have been taking AA now for 3 years and 4 months every Sunday morning. I wondered if it would matter if I miss taking it on Christmas Day. What do others think? I did have a dexa scan a few months ago and the result was low body mass. I am 82.

A critical review of Provenge. Your inputs welcomed?
Any thoughts on this critical review. One thing that strikes me as odd, is how there is no information regarding efficacy since 2012. That's 10 years. If something works well, then why isn't there new data showing that? Some people say, it can't hurt, so just do it. That makes sense if it is true

What first?: Provenge or Nubeqa?
I have not used 2d line AR drugs yet. CRPC just started six months ago. My PSA is below 1. One small, suspected area on last month's PSMA PET scan. That is the same area that looked suspicious on PSMA PET in 2016 and on Axumin in early 2021. I did IADT 2016-2020, with continuous ADT since Jan 2021

DEXA results worse, trialling HRT
Had my first DEXA scan 2 years ago at 48 due to family history of osteoporosis. I have no other risk factors. Scan showed osteopenia in my hips (overall -1.7) and osteoporosis in spine (overall -3.4). Did not want to take alendronic acid offered by my GP. Asked for medication review with Rheumatology

Help with Bone Turnover Marker Tests
A couple of weeks ago I got the results of my bone turnover marker tests and I am hoping there is someone on the platform that is familiar with these tests and who can help me decipher my results. Yes, I did ask my endocrinologist for help with this but what he said makes no sense and he only mentioned

Before You Book (or recommend) That Iron Infusion
I highly doubt any of that iron will cross the blood brain barrier and the science seems to agree with me. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5995392/ At least when you consume not very bioavailable iron orally you stand a chance of some of it being broken down into

Hello, my son (5 y/o) was diagnosed with anxiety and dysregulated anger and aggression disorder about 1 year ago (children's mental health professional). He was then diagnosed with ADHD about 3 months ago (physiologist). I now have a clearer understanding that the ladder diagnosis has much to do with
