Yes and vitamin K2. Check your calcium and vitamin D levels.

My consultant said my calcium and Vit D levels needed to be good before the infusion, otherwise you can have problems with the infusion, also make sure you are well hydrated before and after the infusion.

I learnt from the side effects of my first infusion that I had not been prepared properly. With my second I was prescribed double dose of Adcal for six weeks before and six weeks after. Also to take VitD gel capsules 1000iu daily for the same period. I had a full blood test before the infusion and a week after, all organised by the consultant after I told her of my side effects.

I also took the advice from the ROS and asked for the infusion to be slowed to at least 30 mins, the first was 15 mins. I was also advised to drink loads of water the day before, on the day and the day after, all of which helped.

I did have a headache, nausea and some bone pain about 12 hours after which lasted a few days and did feel a bit like it was flu, but after that I was fine. The second blood test was near normal and I was okay.

I noticed the improvements in my spine after about a month or two and it continues to feel stronger, much less painful and I move a lot better.

Unfortunately my spine is still bent and I don't think I will regain the inches I lost or the squashed tummy feeling, but I do think if I hadn't had the infusion I may have been a lot worse.

Yes, you may get some side effects but it is only once a year and to me personally I can put up with that as I don't have to think about it for another twelve months.

Good luck xx
