How to handle going off mirapex
My neurologist decided to take me off mirapex. This is a new neurologist since mine retired. She specializes in sleep problems. I also have sleep apnea. I dont know why she decided to take me off mirapex. When she told me I was in a state of shock. I also take oxycodone. She is taking me off

Where is T4 tablet broken down
Where is T4 levothyroxine tablet broken down in the body. Is it in the stomach or small intestine or both? I am on antibiotics at the moment and have had stomach upset today and diarrhoea, and this is the reason for my question and whether it has affected absorption of the tablet I took my tablet

I speed from Armour Thyroid (1 grain am 3/4 pm ) last Monday to 50 mcg Levo and 10mcg Liothyronibe am and another 10 mcg pm. Bloods done Tuesday am (last dose T4 24 hrs before and split T3 am/3:00 pm and 7:30 pm). Only water before test at 7:30 am. Results below. I’m wondering how quickly the change

T3 only and heart rate
Hi all, I was started on liothyronine only 6 months ago and it has been life changing. It has resolved 4 years of debilitating symptoms, including chronic fatigue. I have faulty D102 and am a poor converter. I was finally taken off levothyroxine following abnormal ECG and tachycardia. I had a scan and

Newbie needing advice about supplements
Hi I was diagnosed with Hashimotos by my Endo. She has started me on 25 mg of Levo. I know I have a lot to read up on but I have one immediate question. I expect a few blood tests over the next few months as she is still testing for issues with cortisol, female hormones etc and I expect retesting

why am I so happy?
I had a positive pregnancy test today. I wasn’t surprised I was pregnant. I was trying to wait a little longer. But I am amazed. I’m so happy, interested, and curious about my pregnancy journey. Things could be worse right now, but for the most part, I’m hopeful. My partner was happy. He felt so proud

Mirtazapine back pain and bladder
Anyone have a bad experience with Mirtazapine? After 4 days I couldn’t handle being a zombie so I stopped. Week later I had uti symptoms and major lower and upper back pain. This has been going on for about a month. None of my urine test have been negative for a uti. But yet I went through 3 courses

Buprenorphine @ 2 weeks, issues
Hi, I've been on buprenorphine (suboxone 2.0mg as i'm in USA) for little more than 2 weeks. This is after augmenting on pramipexole, getting off that last year, and having some moderate but transient response to IV Iron 5 mos ago that has mostly gone away (despite my ferritin levels still being 300)

Seladelpar update
About a month or more ago, I wrote about this upcoming drug's potentially to be the next drug for second line treatment. By that I mean that for some reason someone was not responding to or not able to take Urso. 40% of patients are failed by Urso. Cymabay, the pharma who manufacturers Seladelpar,

How long before eating?
General advice is leave at least 30 minutes after taking tablets before eating. I’ve seen other advice saying it should be 60 minutes. The reasoning being that there is “better absorption” but no one defines what that means. What I want to know is what difference does it actually make to absorption

Update on MichaelJH
Good morning! I rang Michael last night as I saw elsewhere that he was quite unwell. At the start of the week he woke early feeling rather strange and thought it best to check his blood glucose level. It was fine but he was having trouble focussing on the phone screen (Libre 2 sensor). The room started

NDT vs T4 T3 combination therapy
Hello everyone. Please share your experience NDT vs combination therapy. Currently I am on combo but still have symptoms (I have no thyroid). I am doing better on combo than on T4 only. I want to try NDT and see if it will make me feel better. Since both of them mainly contain T4 T3 may I expect significant

Advice please for next Roseway appt
What size T4 capsules should I ask for next? I currently take 125mcg split as 2 x 50 and 1 x 25. I'm taking Roseway's compounded T4 capsules so they can't easily be split. I had to test this week as I need my appointment next week in order not to run out, but I only completed my transition from NDT

Rheumatologist advices no reduction of prednisolone while adrenal glands not working and has issued emergency hydrocortisone kit
I've had PMR since October 2020 and managed to get down to 2.5mg of prednisolone in February 2023. But after a flare, I had to raise it to 5mg and have been pain-free since then. I started on methotrexate weekly injections (15mg) in December 2023, with the hope of being able to reduce the prednisolone

Cortisol issues
I'm fortunate in having a good GP who is very concerned about my total exhaustion and inability to cope with everyday life. She wrote to my rheumy who authorised a 9am cortisol test. It came back as 104 and he has arranged a short synacthen test in two months time. I've asked the rheumatology dept for
