Newbie needing advice about supplements

Hi

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos by my Endo. She has started me on 25 mg of Levo. I know I have a lot to read up on but I have one immediate question.

I expect a few blood tests over the next few months as she is still testing for issues with cortisol, female hormones etc and I expect retesting of my TSH/T4/T3 etc.

I have recently gone through a Vit D mega dose plan to get my levels up

I take the ‘Heights’ supplement because it focuses on Omega 3, B and D vits etc. I have included the breakdown - is this level of Biotin likely to interfere with testing?

Thanks in advance for taking time to reply.

Multivitamins usually a total waste if money… too little or none of what you need, too much of things you don’t need.

For example - 5 mg of iron in that multi with do absolutely zero for the vast majority of us, possibly interfere with your Levo depending if you take this twice a day as indicated, although not sure what 5 mgs is good for anyways.

And iodine is a red herring - you think it’s needed for your Ts, but it’s already in your Levo at the right amount and you shouldn’t randomly take more.

In the future when checking on biotin levels - refer to this healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

But ultimately you should get your vitamins tested, find your deficiencies, and buy individual supplements at the right dose to make a difference.

Thanks - ironically I went with Heights because I didn’t think it had too much in and I was focusing on Vit D / Omega 3 / B vits because to support post menopause.

Lots more reading to do.

Biotin can interfere with test results, stop taking it a week before blood test.
