Asthma Attacks

Puffers and allergies.
My Mum was diagnosed about 4 years ago, but has bad allergies to antibiotics and some other drugs. As mum's condition deteriorates, there is a reluctance to give her new medication becasue of the bad reactions she has had in the past. Now the COPD specialist nurse says there is nothing she can do for

Care plan for work
Does anyone have a care plan for their asthma/allergies at work, so that colleagues know what to do? I'm writing one for myself, have put the standard asthma attack advice, but unsure what to do about allergies. I had a borderline reaction to a wasp sting - asthma nurse said it was borderline anaphylaxis

Flu jab and egg allergy
My son has asthma but has never been offered the flu jab. I understand it is cultured in egg, he is allergic to egg so I assume he cannot have the flu jab. Anyone else have this problem? My son is 12yrs and has heard the advert about the flu jab and asthma. It has scared him so now gets very anxious

Weird question
Has anyone else experienced an attack being brought on by listening to people talking about asthma/allergies? Was having some training about anaphylaxis today, and towards the end started feeling crackly and coughing - not severe though was sorted out with ventolin. Just thought it was odd that I'd been

Oral B12 - with food or not?
I usually inhabit the Thyroid UK community on HU - and have suggested to several people that they should post here as we see so many B12 issues. We see people with relatively low B12 levels who seem to improve on high dose oral B12 (e.g. 1000 mcg methylcobalamin) - though some do get at least some

Don't always blame it on Gluten: Does anyone have a soya lecithin allergy / reaction?
Sometimes it's not until you've tried something new and react that you delve deeper into the other ingredients - even if the item is actually marked as gluten free. Soya lecithin is often used in gluten free chocolate and other foods for texture and binding so that items don't separate. However,

Just been reading yesterday's comments on jabs,, does any one else have a egg allergy? I can't have any of these jabs because they use albumem (egg) in the vaccine, my dr asks every year then shruggs his shoulders. I have just come out of hospital for a kidney infection and pneumonia and the doctor

Dilemma
I've just had an email from Allergy UK asking me if I work in an office and, if so, whether the environment affects my allergies. The answer to both these questions is yes. Then comes question 3 - would I be prepared to talk to the media about it? The short answer is that I don't know. On one hand

Seretide makes breathing worse
Hi all, I'm new to the site and quite new to asthma control as I was only diagnosed as an adult. I'm having problems with my medication and I'm also doubting the asthma diagnosis and was hoping for some advice. I've been really active my whole life, running, athletics, tennis; in my late 20s I started

Allergic Free Matrress
I just took delivery of a bed today it's suppose to be for people with allergies and has a special coating so dust mites won't stay on it. I hope it helps with the coughing at night, before the bed came I had to change my sheets once a week sometimes twice and washed my sheets in 60 degress water. No
