What Happens at the Severe/Difficult Asthma Clinic
Its something that comes up quite a lot on here and I’ve seen it mentioned a few times recently so I thought I would write a post about my experiences at a severe asthma clinic and the kind of things they do there as I think I’ve had about every test under the sun at mine!! Just be aware, though that

Asthma worse since we moved.
Since leaving London and moving back to the west country last year, I feel like my asthma has been getting worse. I used to be on Flutiform 2 puffs twice a day plus nightly montelukast. My asthma nurse recently changed me over to Fostair 100 2puffs three times a day, montelukast, and now also a steroid

Allergic to steroids and a large amount of medications
Hello everyone. I have lupus and have developed an allergy to prednisone and methylprednisolone. I am also having crazy allergic reactions to most medications. Anybody else experiencing this?

Severe asthma
Well, my asthma has been crazy for a few years now, and last hospital stay it was referred to as Brittle asthma. Now I just have bloods form from consultants to check eosinophils etc and in the clinical details is ‘severe asthma’ ?? To be honest either way, it’s crazy, but sometimes it’s helpful to know

No need to worry if i can do it anyone can hand on heart
Nothing to worry about. I was 63 when i had a non reversible ileostomy and done great and now 70. Take things easy for around six weeks and do as told. don't over do things that's when problems occur. Same with regard to exercise etc. Eat little to start and build up food intake over a period of time

Hot weather - is this an asthma trigger?
Hii there, I’ve only very recently been diagnosed with Asthma and this sudden heatwave makes me feel like I have someone sat on my chest... It feels so heavy and irritated - agh! Is there anything I can do? 😤😖

Recent experience with Asthma UK
Good afternoon all, This is just a short post to say how helpful a recent Asthma UK nurse appointment was that I attended. This was my first time calling them, and they offered so much support and advice. I went back to my GP and we discussed what was said, and between us have put a new plan in place

Thunderstorm warning ⛈️
Does your asthma get worse during a thunderstorm? If you notice your symptoms often flare-up, it’s probably because of one of two reasons. The air before a storm can feel very humid. Some of you tell us that this causes a tight chest and a cough, and that it can be harder to breathe. Thunderstorms smash

I have had a total hysterectomy including ovary removal can it come back?
So February this year I had a major operation to remove everything ovaries, womb the lot. Plus bowel surgery. I had a stoma until August and I have recently had an operation to reverse it back. Just the other day I noticed I had similar symptoms to when I had endometriosis. I’m very scared that it’s

Struggling with a new asthma diagnosis

Just stressing as I don’t know much about asthma. I’m trying to not google as I think that’s the worst thing I can

Can anyone recommend asthma safe cleaning products for the bathroom?
Bleach etc gives me a full blown asthma attack, and isn't exactly good for the environment either. Have you found any products that are chemical free and clean well? Thanks.

Sleep and asthma; Why do we usually go dodgy at night?
Hi everyone I thought I’d do an ‘infomercial’ today about why asthmatics can be worse at night! (I was asked privately if I could think of triggers that would cause night flares so have also added these in!) SIGNS OF ISSUES Now we all know that waking up at night is a bad sign for asthma, but did you

Copd diagnosis 5 years ago now diagnosed with asthma as well
Hi everybody, just reaching out to see if anyone has any information that may be of help to me. I was diagnosed with COPD in 2015 and have been managing fine till this year. I was put on the shielding list as I also have other co morbidities that according to NICE means my COPD is classed as severe.

Blue badge for severe asthma?
Hi all, I am just curious to know if any of you here are in receipt of a blue badge based on your asthma diagnosis. I am really tempted to apply but worried I might be turned down. I work part time at a hospital and my asthma does not affect my ability to do so. However, hospital parking can be hell
