Anyone have experience with symbicort? Being swapped to it as apparently they are trying to reduce salbutamol use?
I've just had a review for my asthma and they are changing me to symbicort 2 puffs twice a day and I'm now to use it as my reliever too? I'm currently on Fostair 1 puff twice a day and ventolin but she said with current guidelines they are trying to reduce the amount of salbutamol use as its better to

Anybody suffers from seasonal asthma and use inhaler on demand?
I suffer from seasonal winter asthma. Currently on mart regimen fostair nexthaler 100/6 twice a day. Previously was on becotide twice a day and ventolin as required. I usually stopped taking them before summer and start again beginning of autumn. My mum told me this combi should be taken all year round

Scared
Hello all, I am constantly scared and worried. I was diagnosed with radiation enteritis in April but I am too scared to eat anything (other than soup or yoghurt) as I really cannot deal with another bowel obstruction. I have 2 stomas (colostomy and an urostomy). The urostomy is fine but the colostomy

Might not be asthma
Hi, new here. I’m seeking some ideas here. I’ve been treated for asthma for over 20 years. I’ve had new inhalers recently but resorted to ones I’ve been taking for some time. In December I became unwell. My go gave me prednisone for a week. That did nothing. He diagnosed a virus (not covid). Still struggling

Fewer people sought medical help for severe asthma attacks during the COVID-19 pandemic
Fewer patients with severe attacks were seen by their GP or admitted to hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, and fewer were admitted to hospital for pneumonia, influenza and chronic lung diseases, show findings from three papers published online in the journal Thorax. Early in the pandemic, asthma

Severe asthma and general anaesthetic
I was due to have an op about 2 weeks ago (ended up having a severe asthma attack and spent 2 weeks in hosp) but didn't have it and they changed their minds and said it was too risky with my asthma being so severe. Well they've phoned today and booked it in for thr 19th April, it's a removal of cysts

Stopping smoking with asthma...
Hi, I'm giving up smoking today and I've got 3 more days, out of 10, on my steriods after asthma attacks. I guess my biggest worry is I hear you bring up phlegm in the first week or two of giving up and was wondering could this set off another asthma attack... Or have people had situations where it

Running with asthma
I have asthma and mild bronchiectasis. I run around once/twice a week- around 3-5k so not very much. I’ve been on Fostair for a couple of years but don’t seem to be getting any benefit from it and still feel like I need my ventolin before exercise. Has anyone swapped to seretide and seen an improvement

Hyperactive airways?
Hi, so in December 2019 I was referred to the hospital chest clinic for testing. There they performed an x-ray, spirometry, blood test etc and the doctor who did this mentioned hyperactive airway sensitivity. I didn't receive a letter from the doctor with results - however they put me on the brown inhaler

Chronic Side Effects of Asthma Medications
I joined this group some two months ago, soon after being been diagnosed with underlying asthma. At that time, I had been prescribed Forstair 100/6 and have tried the pressurised inhaler and NEXThaler fine powder options, both of which evoked horrendous side effects of hoarseness, dry mouth ulcers and
