Is eosinophilic asthma always severe?
I was wondering about the following 1) Does anyone know what percent of asthma is eosinophilic 2) what percentage of eosinophilic asthma is severe? I have looked at journal articles etc but couldn’t find an answer as different sites give totally different percentages

Dense adhesions after 15 surgeries, + 2 rare medical conditions
At the age of 25, my life changed forever. After 4 years, 2 surgeries and no diagnosis, as to what the problems was, I eventually found out I had multiple intestinal lipomatosis and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Ileostomy formed 1996. 13 more surgeries have performed. Due to absorption problems, + major

FDG elements of PSMA scan
I had a FDG scan a few days ago . At the heart of my confusion is the function of FDG in giving a positive outcome to Pluvicto infusions. Is it a good thing to have lots of 'FDG Avid' showing up, or do you want those aspects of the scan to be as hidden as possible (so that the PSMA -Avid cells can be

What is normal after surgery and what isn't
My husband had stoma surgery two weeks ago and got home a week later. Since coming home he seems to be deteriorating not improving. On the advice of his stoma nurse, we are going to see the GP to get bloods taken, etc this morning. However, is it normal to go off your food, be scared to eat in case

Stoma with Denosumab osteoporosis medication
Hi, I am posting the same thing in the osteoporosis forum and the stoma forum at the suggestion of my friend. My mum has had a stoma for over 50 years and is also on osteoporosis medication. Her doctor has suggested she moves to Denosumab which contains sorbitol and is a twice yearly injection. She

Pale skin during flare ups
Does anyone else get a really washed out, pale almost grey skin during flare ups? My Mum often comments on me looking very pale but I caught sight of myself in the mirror yesterday and my eyes were dark underneath (despite having had a long nap), skin so pale with an almost greenish grey tint. Not very

Why extreme food allergies are on the rise – and what we can do about them

asthma and the seaside
Hi everyone I really struggle in the summer with my asthma, have tried all sorts such as Xolair which didn't work for me (not eligible for the other biologics apparently) It seems I'm just expected to get by on steroids and staying indoors. I find that my asthma is better at the seaside, I can only

Biologics
I've been referred to an Asthma specialist who will be seriously considering me for biologics. I'm 72 this year and have had asthma all of my life. I'm not too bad but I can feel things not quite right at all. I have done all the FEV stuff. I suppose I am quite fit for an asthmatic as I'm 5 ' 8

PSMA Analysis needed
I'm awaiting the visual images from my PSMA FDG scan. In the meantime, I've got a written report and I could do with your help. The backdrop is that I'm hoping to be considered eligible for PSMA therapy in Melbourne in May-Aug. At the heart of it lies a really simple question (and apologies for my naivety

Coping with asthma at the moment
Morning fellow asthma sufferers, I'm sure there are many out there like me finding that the high pollen levels are increasing asthma symptoms. My asthma was only diagnosed 3+ years ago 6 months after my bronchiectasis diagnosis so I feel I'm still trying to understand my triggers and how to deal with

Hi All, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 OC in May 2023 with the cancer migrated into my colon. I had been feeling unwell for 6 months and was assured by my doctor in February that it was acid reflux. This was despite my mentioning I have gynaecological issues in the family. The symptoms were bizarre

Mannitol challenge
A consultant I saw a couple of years ago, said that my
asthma
is non
allergic
and non eosinophilic and has a different pathway to these
asthma
types. He also said there has been a lack of research and not a lot is known about my asthma type, but that I’m on all the medication available to me.

Diagnosed DIE of rectum/bladder/ovaries/POD
Hi, 24 and just been diagnosed with DIE of the recum (5cm from opening) and large endo adhesions on uterus, bowel, bladder and ovaries and obliterated pouch of douglas. I haven't seen a consultant yet for surgery options - just wondering if anyone had similar diagnoses and what they went through? I

urethral constriction
Had chemo and then cystectomy 10 years ago. Last few years, kidney stones then UTIs, until lithotripsy for the stones. But have urethral constriction, so every 4 month I have stents put through my stoma. Has anyone heard of, or had the procedure done for the constriction using Optilume? Supposedly
