Hi David, I'm not on biologics myself (wrong type of asthma), but do attend a severe asthma clinic. You may find this post helpful for a general overview: healthunlocked.com/asthmauk...
Hi Lysistrata That is the clinic I'm booked into for about 3 hours + Now I know what to expect It's better than the 50s when I had to lay on a folded mattress and get pummelled by a nurse !
Hi DavidI too am in the early stages of being considered for Biologics. I think it will take about 6 months as my application has to be approved by a board.
I have just had 7 days hospitalisation and heard from the doctors that the results are good.
I am so looking forward to these new meds. Asthma is so debilitating.
Fingers crossed I will be given the ok.
Hi again, I just received my consultants report and I don't quite qualify for biologics yet. That's OK though as I don't feel bad at all.
I'm thrilled (really) that I have the kindest Asthma specialist ever (in recent times) and I feel OK.
I do get a tight chest and a bit of breathlessness every once in awhile and can tolerate that - just about. I now have a Spiriva inhaler + Easyhaler and a few Ventolin inhalers tucked away.
I did have a CT Scan recently and that showed up some scarring from smoking (I stopped about 40 years ago) but all in all it was good for my age
All my breathing tests were good for my age and quite a few professionals said my weight was very, very good.
