ing after wrist fusion surgery?
I had wrist fusion in May. I came out afterwards with not hearing in my left ear. After consulting Ortho Doctor he sent name to regular ear doctor who then sent me to a surgeon ear specialist. After 5 steroid eardrum injections over 10 days i still had no improvement. Went back to get rechecked 2 weeks

Possible links between ACE inhibitors and coronavirus
Over the past few months, many of you may have seen conflicting news stories about possible links between ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers and Covid-19. Here’s what we know about the evidence so far, and why more research is needed. Hopefully a useful read for anyone with a heart condition

Psychology vs physical diagnosis - help please!
I've a fair amount of experience in academic research into routes to improve subject motivation, both to prevent a number of health conditions with similar causality, and to reduce progression, or reverse them where possible, once established. For me, understanding exactly what is happening takes away

Fibroscan results please help me understand this
Hi everyone, I just go my results back from the fibroscan test. Hepatic parenchymal stiffness (measure of elasticity) : 13.1 kPa, with IQR/Median percentage of 27 % Hepatic steatosis grade (scale S0-S3): S3, Severe steatosis. I know this means severe fatty liver and fibrosis stage 3 but what i was wondering

Drugs after heart surgery
How long do people carry on taking beta blockers and ace inhibitors after open heart surgery? I had a aortic valve replacement 3 months ago.

High Glucosylceramides and Low Anandamide Contribute to Sensory Loss and Pain in Parkinson's Disease
I find articles like this frustrating because they give no indication if diet, behavior, or medication currently available can use this information to help PwP. So, I'm looking for this information. https://movementdisorders.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/mds.28186

My mum, who’s in her 80s, has had glaucoma for 30 years. I think this is normal tension glaucoma. In the last 10 years she’s had a deep scelerotomy in one eye and a trabeculectomy in the other, also cataract surgery in one eye. Drops are continued in both eyes to keep pressures low. Her consultant

Early hydroxychloroquine treatment Covid charts
Look at the global HCQ studies results. Digest the content. "Global HCQ studies. PrEP, PEP, and early treatment studies show high effectiveness, while late treatment shows mixed results." 100% of early treatment including Post Exposure Prophylaxis studies are very positive. https://c19study.com/ Please

Hydroxychloroquine & Hydroxyurea for Covid and & ET
I am a teacher with ET, and have been on hydroxyurea (HU) for about 18 months. Feeling pretty good. Will be teaching online for at least a few months, but will eventually be going back into the classroom. Thinking about taking hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure for catching Covid from students

Raised bilirubin and Gallstones
Hi First post: My Repeated blood Tests showed raised bilirubin of 33. A gp last year mentioned Gilbert syndrome as I haven’t symptoms. So as this year bilirubin levels are still high I went for an Ultrasound scan which confirmed gallstones . Could the raised bilirubin be the cause of gallstones or do

Very fatty liver and stopping drinking, but want tips on returning safely to alcohol when I have reversed
Had a fibroscan today and CAP was 274 dB/m. 5.4 kp. Alt 248 and AST 125. Given up alcohol for last month and lost 1.5 stone but was caning the booze hard before and especially during lockdown. Relieved that no apparent fibrosis but way fatty liver so looks like I need to crack on with abstaining.

Lucentis injections
Hi everyone just had my 4th injection today and feeling really well after this latest one. Just a thought, as nearly always takes me a good 24 hours normally to feel brighter after them. Just wondering if this is due to build up, getting used to them or struck lucky with my injector today? Would love
