ing after wrist fusion surgery?

I had wrist fusion in May. I came out afterwards with not hearing in my left ear. After consulting Ortho Doctor he sent name to regular ear doctor who then sent me to a surgeon ear specialist. After 5 steroid eardrum injections over 10 days i still had no improvement. Went back to get rechecked 2 weeks ago. And while my Ortho said it could have been the anesthesia the Ear specialist said in less he saw the charts during surgery its hard to prove. So here I am not 15 weeks later still with the swooshing. ,loud beeping and fake music background. My hearing was perfect prior to and i have zero medical condition or on prescriptions. Healthy at 68 except for the Wrist fusion recently. Anyone out there have any advice or have they had this happen to them? I now see him in 4 months in December to see if its any bettter. Its driving me nuts because I do not like to complain and I am pain tolerant so my wife of 47 years says. Appreciate anyone’s input....

You have to be your own best advocate in this situation. When the Dr says how are you, tell them straight out that you feel shitty, or whichever words you like to use, never say " well alright I guess". If you say that they will generally tune out the rest.

I told my rheumy I was going to trade him knees as I could barely walk, the next afternoon I got a call from MRI office to come in in a weeks time. Here in Canada it is usually a 6 month wait or longer.

Be an advocate for yourself and things will improve.
