I've found over the years that emotional eating comes in many guises.. for example Stuffing down sadness
Addiction
to sugary foods Negative self image Beating ourselves up "Banning food" then wanting it Binge eating and regretting it The group is meant to be supportive for just this issue alone!

9 Stone to Lose at 24 Years Old. Yep.
Office job + food
addiction
+secret eating +living with also food addicted OH + barely moving + laziness + generic excuses +denial = 7 stone quicker than you might think. Anyway, I'm here now. So I've been calorie tracking my intake with MyFitnessPal for 3 weeks and so far I've lost 10lbs.

Losing hope with lost mobility.. any insight would be helpful
I've been in treatment for the opiate
addiction
since March of 2013. I detoxed willingly, but only because my life had become a complete mess and I was afraid of social services taking our son away from us.

Sugar addiction
I have finally decided I really want to change my eating habits as due to binge eating bags of sweets and chocolate when upset/worried about family, I have gone from a size 12 to a 16, and am unhappy with the way I look and feel. I have started writing a food diary and intend avoiding all sweets and

I stopped smoking!!! WOOOOOO AWESOME!!!! YESSS!!!!! WHHOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO!!!! HEHEHEE HAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!
I didn't even see it as a drug
addiction
. I was miserable without a smoke. now i think why should i be miserablke i am freeing myself. it makes stopping so so easy because every time you are not smoking you are not an addict.

I want to fee better
It was brilliant when I finally beat the
addiction
. However sine then, I get extremely bad colds, Bronchitis and ended up with Asthma and it has got worse and worse over each year since giving up smoking. I have been seeing the practice nurse in the past 3 months who has been a great help.

Dopamine agonists turned me into a compulsive monster. Have you had similar experiences?
My doctor knew I had a history of alcoholism and thankful I stayed sober, but the
addiction
to gambling made me steal anything and everything, be arrested, and nearly become homeless. 18 months after that dose increase, my psychiatrist found some articles about the Requip link to impulse control disorders

Smoking is not a Habit
Smoking is an
addiction
and too many people say and write that it is the hardest
addiction
to beat. This is not true. There are no physical withdrawal aches or pains. We are easily distracted from thinking about lighting up. The hardest part of quitting is a sense of emptiness.

It is weird
I would much prefer doing morning and evening every day. it is really like an
addiction
isn't it? The fresh air, the peace, being aware of your body, the wanting to get there, to prove yourself you can do it...... It is weird.

Great Progress
(It is important that you do not take these tablets without a prescription as they can cause
addiction
and need to be monitored through regular check-ups with your GP).

Former Anorexic Still Recovering after 25 years.
It was like an
addiction
on to it's self. Thinking the number and estimating how much it is going to be and how small can it go. I was 78 pounds at my worst and I am 5'5". But I mostly hovered In around 82 to 83 pounds at the time. It was 25 years ago.

Lots of people "Beat themselves up" for being greedy but could it be, that genetically you're more susceptible to
addiction
and are struggling against what are essentially primeval urges.

Reset to Zero Monky
Just like previous occasions where I relapsed, I was long past the nicotine
addiction
& I wasn't "craving" a cigarette. I only wanted something/anything that would calm the turbulence I was feeling.

New Pathways Part 3
now some will build those pathways on food or alcohol or perhaps other drugs, but those of you who have read my posts before would be aware that I have deliberately avoided substituting one
addiction
for another, which has left a gaping hole with nothing but that 6 lane expressway to fill it.

New Pathways Part 7
If it were ALL about nicotine
addiction
, we would all have gotten by with no more need than 5-6 cigarettes a day to satisfy our dwindling nicotine reserves, so why 20+ per day. 3.
