WHO RULES YOUR LIFE?
because one of the things I have learned is that it is NOT a habit it is, whichever way you look at it, a full blown life threatening

What is everyone's reason for quitting.
It is not a habit, it is an
addiction
. So no more slavery I found the following online which makes for interesting reading At 20 minutes after quitting: blood pressure decreases pulse rate drops body temperature of hands and feet increases.

And so it goes -- the vicious cycle of nicotine
addiction
. One cigarette is never enough, a fact that every smoker knows all too well. In order to quit smoking successfully for the long term, it helps to understand the nature of nicotine

and what it takes to break free of it.

British weather has Bipolar disorder! So do I.
I'm a bit piffed to be honest because anything I do, she copies, like the codeine
addiction
, she's started taking them every day now too! I try very hard to hide all my flaws, I never talk about them with her, but I do with my mum and she must have over heard.

Between the physical
addiction
to nicotine and the mental associations that tie what seems like all of our activities to cigarettes, it can feel as though we're chained to the habit with links of steel.

RA for 13 Years
Im pleased to say for over ten years Ive been very lucky and most of the time managed my RA reasonably well and think that was a combination of the meds and my
addiction
to my fitness and running :-) Im now 45 and and earlier in the year had my life turned upside down after a combination

I'm not cured of nicotine
addiction
otherwise I wouldn't be sat here sucking a lozenge but the habit of smoking has definitely gone. For anyone starting out on the path of trying to kick the habit I think my advice would be don't expect the impossible.

Think about a cigarette.
I have garnered the lessons this
addiction
offered. I have unveiled the truth – I am neither victim nor fool. In the wake of a once destructive force, I stand victorious - captain at the helm – punch my fists up in the air. Rejoice in my new found freedom.

Should I start taking the Champix now or wait a little longer?
I have tried numerous times to stop smoking - had the
addiction
for 43 years!! I 'cheated' the pharmacy into giving me champix by blowing zero on the meter they use. I did this by using an e-cig and NRT for 72 hours prior to my consultation.

Oh what a perfect day (yesterday), I'm glad I went for a run
As I wrote on Friday, this is a win win
addiction
Good run = want another one Bad run = want a better one next time: this particular run well and truly makes up for Friday. This route will be run many more times, it's already one of my favourites.

I think I am getting a running blog writing
addiction
. I do not intend seeking any help for it though as sometimes thinking about what to write gets me through a bad run!

Self medication
I haven't used alcohol as a coping method for long, but I'm worried it will soon become an issue, like my painkiller (codeine)
addiction
. I go through a 12.5g of tobacco per day, alone, it's costing a fortune, but I can't do without my ciggies.
