We need the following for maintaining good health and keeping illness away.
It can come in the form of foods or supplements in addition to foods. The reason for this is that in many cases the available quantity in food is below RDA and in some cases , not all we eat gets absorbed ( particular nutrient)
So we need, Vitamins, A ,E, D, C ( in limited quantity),Omega 3, ( Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio should not exceed 1:1), antioxidants, selenium, Cinnamon, Magnessium and some essential proteins.
Though I will not be able to give the brand name in this public forum, I will give the details
Chromium in picolinate form ( 500 to 1000mg/day) . Foods are broccoli, brewster's yiest, apple onion, corn. First twohave more quantities.
Magnessium in green leafy vegetables, nuts sea food, bran ( Rice ,oats, wheat) dried coriander, basil, cocoa powder pumpkin seeds, flax, sunflower seeds, almonds, dry roasted soya beans,
Antioxidants in redwine (ORAC > 7500),pomengranate, cinnamon,
Omega 3 in combination with antioxidants -Krill oil, walnut, flax seed.
In addition to foods, many a times we need supplements for the reason cited above.
Many of themulti vitamin tablets/capsules have some of these in addition to B6, B12, folic acid, but below RDA.
