Success with with supplements/alternative treatments for Raynaud's (Curcumin, omega oils, magnesium oil)
My rheumatologist prescribed
adalat
(Nifedipine), and although it worked, I had to stop taking it because of the side effects (extreme dizziness, nausea, and puffy dry hot hands).

Alternatives from Adalat Retard
My Grandma has been on
Adalat
retard 20mg for a very long time to manage her blood pressure. Since it’s been discontinued her doctors has been haphazard with finding her a new solution. She has symptoms with Nifedipress 20mg. Has anyone had a better transition from retard? If so which tablet?

Can I stop taking Lercanidipine
A couple of years ago I was prescribed
Adalat
, not for BP as my BP was always low, but for Raynauds Phenomenom in my feet. It caused Fluid retention in my legs and face so I stopped taking it as I could manage an attack and as summer was coming, less attacks anyway. BP and Raynauds were fine.

Nifedipine/ Coracten
Hi, I've been on Nifedipine 20mg (
Adalat
Retard) twice daily for about 5 years to help control painful spasms in my forearms related to Raynauds/Scleroderma. I'm also on Carbamazepine, Aspirin, Co-codamol, and Illoprost every 6 months.

Update on Nifedipine
Just to clarify it’s the Bayer
Adalat
Nifedipine that is no longer available. I’ve now been prescribed Coracten which is another brand of Nifedipine. They don,t do the 5mg ones so I’m on the 20mg moderate release so hopefully they will be ok. Thanks again for all your replies x

Raynauds medication.
I started
Adalat
two weeks ago and have been mostly ok. I've had an increase in headaches, flushes and urination. Hoping with time on them things would improve. I take 5mg three times a day. The whitening of my fingers has indeed decreased, but the rate they go bright and boiling hot has increased.

Drug availability
Hello all Just wondering if there's anyone who has also had problems getting nifedipine(
Adalat
) ?. It's such a common blood pressure pill that I'm surprised there are manufacture problems for it!. My GP surgery has put me on a substitute
Adalat
retard until they can get the original one again.

Getting help from GP? - what questions to ask?
She is currently on Levothyroxine 100mg and
Adalat
40mg. I'm going to try and persuade her to let me go in to her next appointment - what questions should I ask? Should I ask about 'Armour' medication - does anyone have any experience of this medication, and would it work for my mum?
