Hi, I've been on Nifedipine 20mg (Adalat Retard) twice daily for about 5 years to help control painful spasms in my forearms related to Raynauds/Scleroderma. I'm also on Carbamazepine, Aspirin, Co-codamol, and Illoprost every 6 months.
The recent change to Coracten I think has led to side effects which I haven't experienced before. I've developed oedema in my ankles and my hair is thinning. I've had bloods done to rule out any other issues and have tried cutting the dose in half to see if this helps. I know it's the same drug so a manufacturers change shouldn't make any difference but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this?
For me, the side effects are a step too far, and i'd rather put up with more pain as long as the spasms don't lead to more blood clots. It's like a balancing act.
