Vitamin D3 prevents calcium-induced progression ...
New study below. "Active surveillance has emerged as an alternative to immediate treatment for men with low-risk prostate cancer. Accordingly, identification of environmental factors that faciliate progression to more aggressive stages is critical for disease prevention. Although calcium-enriched diets

A Bit of a Setback With B12 Def Blood Tests
I have been waiting for test results, now into week three. These were Private ones, owing to obstructive attitude by GPs in local surgery. The surgery ( person on desk, maybe the cleaner?) didn`t know anything about any results, but might have had difficulty typing my name into the system. My Christian

Good report from Neuro today! Yay!
After 4 months on Gilenya, I think I've finally got things balanced out. It has decreased my appetite, caused me to lose weight, given me anxiety, and "low mood". He told me that he likes the cocktail I've come up with for my meds. I had asked to increase some and decrease some. He recommends 2000 iu

Will oral B12 complicate blood test results?
Hello, My apologies if this post is redundant--I thought I posted it yesterday, but it seems to have vanished. I was diagnosed with low Vitamin D in April and low B12 (148) in August. I am in the US. I received daily injections for 7 days, followed by 4 weekly injections, and now monthly "forever.

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Medicinal Fungi - Turkey Tail (Coriolus versicolor)
Turkey tail is a common enough medicinal mushroom [1]. Why try it? Study [5] explains my interest. There are very few supplements that target stem-like PCa cells. Conventional cancer therapies are thought to fail because the stem-like cells are not targeted. e.g. PCa stem-like cells do not require androgen

HELP WITH PMR MEDS
Hi, I am a newbee and think I have had symptoms for about a year. Eventually diagnosed 3 1/2 mths ago with PMR. Have read on this great website how Dr said take these steroids and if you are pain free in 48 hours it is PMR!! Well, I was and was thrilled until I then realised what taking steroids meant

Vitamin D (D3) - UK
Thought I'd share my experience of the last two weeks with everyone. Most specifically this is for UK people, mileage for others may vary. So, following Paula's doc and the news about NHS recommending Vitamin D supplements I toddled off to the GP the week before last. I asked for a Vitamin D test

HLA-B27 - what do you know about it?
Hi All, I'm posting on this forum as don't really know where else to post but as HLA-b27 is auto-immune related, the lupus forum seemed most apt and as I have previously posted, I do have a lot of the lupus symptoms :) I've been to my GP today for a follow up on the blood tests done at the beginning

Time To failure
I think the guys who have had success with Lupron therapy remaining effective for years are worth examining...what is the common denominator...so far I have talked to 53 long term Lupron survivors and the following protocol keeps coming up as a common denominator.....Lupron, Avodart, Metformin, Arimidex

2 month update and odd symptoms to add.
Hey guys, I'm back to update and again request for your expert knowledge and guidance please. It's been approx 2 months that I've been taking 50mg of levothyroxine (Actavis) I also take vitamin d3 supplements and magnesium, calcium and zinc. I'm 36 but feel like I'm in the body of a woman post 80!

Ever wondered why they think you are depressed?
This is a rather interesting article just published by Dr Mercola it explains the relationship between high inflammatory states in the human body and its intimate link with depression. The observations made closely match what I have seen in clinical practice over the last 35 years it also matches and

Vitamin D3 and MS?
What is the latest on Vit D3 supplimentation for MS? I've read a lot about this. I don't think I had a deficiency ever, but I don't know for sure. I started taking D when I read about how it could benefit MS. I don't go out much and where I live we don't get sun all the time even if I did spend time

I can't seem to work out which order and when take my supplements for them to have the best effect?
I take 100mg of Thyroxine in the night - probably between 1pm & 3pm I get up for work and have coffee at 5:45-6am and leave for work at half seven I usually have breakfast on my journey to work - but this isn't essential, I could have it later. I can't quite get my head around when to add in these:

Vitamin D3 has cured my migraines
About 5 months ago, a blood test showed that I was deficient in Vitamin D. I had asked for this test to be added to my regular thyroid function test, as recommended on the Health Unlocked Thyroid forum (I am hypothyroid). The test showed that I was deficient, at 36 nmol /L, but my GP didn't seem to
