Abiraterone+PARP inhibitor better than abiraterone alone for mCRPC
The combo was very effective in one trial (but not in the other trial), even among those with no DNA-repair defects (like BRCA). The trials used different PARP inhibitors and the patients were different. https://www.prostatecancer.news/2022/06/abirateroneparp-inhibitor-better-than.html PARP inhibitors

'Substandard' Control Arms in Clinical Trials– Practice found common in prostate cancer studies
The trial included patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) with a mutation of a predefined set in a DNA repair gene that had progressed on at least one androgen receptor targeting agent (ARTA), enzalutamide or
abiraterone
.

65th bday last Sunday (Dx'd in 2015) Did 65 miles over two months with Bonnie and did a bday 5k. #10 Cabazitaxel right now, just got Lupron
Taxotere failed in 2021, so did
Abiraterone
and then Xtandi in 2020. May be time for a PSMA scan, since I'm on Kaiser Medicare now, then biopsy if large enough. Maybe send out for genetic testing too. https://youtu.be/U3sMjm9Eloo Still ticking gang! Fight on Randy

Switch of corticosteroids from prednisone to dexamethasone
The
abiraterone
is fighting a great rearguard action, but slowly failing. I’d like to keep it efficacious as long as possible.

No More Orgovyx, Continuing with Abiraterone and Prednisone
My MO and I have just decided to try the methodology reported in the study titled: "Suppression of testosterone production using
abiraterone
acetate (AA) with or without androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) in metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC)".

GA 68 PSMA PET SCAN RESULTS
Tall Allen, I read the SPPORT Trial you sent me and if I understand correctly it looks like the next line of treatment should be RT to the pelvic bed and the lymph nodes, possibly administering Apalutamide vs.
abiraterone
or enzalutamide.

He has Gleason 5 + 5 disease and regional disease by NCCN classification I'm currently in my 4th month of ADT (3-month Eligard injections and 1000mg/d
abiraterone
), initially planned to last 2 years. I'm set to start proton therapy around 2/1/23.

Probiotics
Are there any pros or cons to probiotics while on Lupron,
Abiraterone
, and prednisone? Jim has never in his life gotten staph infections, and he is now fighting his second one on his skin within 4 months. Thinking he doesn't have enough friendly bacteria in his system. Thank you

Arrhythmia and Zytiga
I have been on
abiraterone
for about a year and a half along with Lupron. I’m currently seeing a cardiologist because the last two weeks I’ve developed heart palpitations/arrhythmia.

Aggarwal's Androgen Annihilation trial for 1 year (Degarelix +
Abiraterone
+ Apalutamide + Prednison). He stayed non-detectable for 1 year post trial and now, but PSA has been on the rise. The last PSMA scan found 1 small avid lesion on his pelvic bone for which he had SBRT.

250 mg dose of Abiraterone with low fat meal
For those of you on this protocol has anyone described the size of the meal necessary to make this work effectively? I recently switched from four pills to one because of high liver enzymes. I used to take the 4 pills around 1 AM when I got up to pee. Having a little trouble remembering to take a single

Looking for a trainer/coach that understands low-T/ADT training
I'm 4 years in on the standard triple blockade (
Abiraterone
/ Orgovyx / Dutasteride) and things are going very well. PSA is stable at < 0.01. And I just rode a century ride this past weekend. (woot!)
