Using transdermal E2
Has anyone switched from using Lupron (or any 1st or 2nd level ADT, such as Firmagon,
abiraterone
, etc.) directly to transdermal E2? 2. Has anyone who has used it eventually become castrate resistant, as with ADT? 3.

Abiraterone / Zytiga stopping after 5 years
Drug no longer working for me after nearly 5 years of good success… I was given 2 years! Not too shabby. Onto Lu177 now.

Rising PSA after chemo finished.
Before chemo my dad had been taking
Abiraterone
a month between. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Xtandi vs. Abiraterone vs. Nubeqa
Nubeqa is roughly the same…but
abiraterone
would only be about $1.5k/yr. Once the current “anti-inflation” bill goes into effect the out of pocket limit will be $2k/yr starting in 2025. So I’m wondering…how much better are these next generation antiandrogen medications than
abiraterone
?

olaparib in combination with abiraterone and prednisone
If approved, Lynparza with
abiraterone
will become the first combination of a PARP inhibitor and a new hormonal agent for patients with this disease.”

Can Acupuncture reduce hot flashes
Hot flashes are the only remaining side effect (of Lupron) after stopping
Abiraterone
and Hydrocortisone ADT in January 2022 when my MO said my PSA of 0.06 was “near undetectable.” Yippee, a bunch of
Abiraterone
side effects went away. So I’m on Lupron ADT only now. My April 2022 PSA was 0.07.

Nubeqa after abiraterone resistant
After a year of ADT...Lupron,
abiraterone
and prednisone... I stalled at PSA 1.5. Then it increased over 3 months to 2.9. Medical oncologists took me off
abiraterone
and prednisone and replaced with Nubeqa. 30 days dropped to 1.6. No apparent side effects. Will test again in a few days.

looking for treatment advice
Husband is on
Abiraterone
, Prednisone and monthly Lupron shots. He completed 6 docetaxel treatments in April. PSA has slowly gone from almost 7000 to 4 since last diagnosis last September. So far it is still slowly dropping each month but no where near undetectable.

Chemotherapy or Zytiga or both? Metastatic or Locally Advanced Prostate Cancer?
Unsure what to do re: the chemo as local oncologists (at a center of excellence) won’t prescribe because they say husband is not technically metastatic and they feel ADT +
Abiraterone
plus radiation therapy is an aggressive plan. Thoughts?

Neuropathy and cabazitaxal
The chemo is the last ditch effort as he has failed all other SOC (Xtandi,
Abiraterone
, Docetaxal, ADT- resistant now). Question- could this chemo make neuropathy worse, and is it something we should be concerned with.

Determinants of PSA Response to Bipolar Androgen Therapy [BAT]
Responders were more likely to have had a radical prostatectomy as definitive therapy and were more likely to have been treated with an androgen receptor (AR) antagonist (enzalutamide or apalutamide) immediately prior to BAT (compared to
abiraterone
).

define "metastatic"
(https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35371297) Wherein this statement is found " survival of metastatic HSPC can be improved with the addition to ADT of any one of docetaxel,
abiraterone
, acetate, prednisone combination, apalutamide, or darolutamide in combination with docetaxel".

Starting Lupron ... Again
We discussed the studies pertaining to adding a second level ADT med, like
Abiraterone
, that showed a potential survival advantage. We also discussed adding Erleada and
Abiraterone
. Ultimately, I elected not to add anything to the Lupron.

Evidence that the Medical Community is Failing Prostate Cancer Patients !!
But Don Pescado, you may argue, STAMPEDE only proved the use of
abiraterone
plus ADT in MHSPC in 2017... https://prostatecancerinfolink.net/2017/09/13/update-on-stampede-data-on-

Side Effects of Docetaxel vs Cabazitaxel
Been at this for over 6 years now, diagnosed at stage 4 and ever since on ADT, plus 6 cycles of Docetaxel,
Abiraterone
and Enzalutamide. Looks like its time for Cabazitaxel. My doctor is recommending that as the next treatment.
