Hypothetical question
What happens if you stop taking levothyroxine? I had RAI treatment on 2016 September 2017 endocrinologist said your normal and signed me off 6 weeks later my gp re tests and it’s all too high. Doc dropped me down to 150mcg and my system has gone to sleep Seems I only function well on a high

Sources of iodine ?
If you are dairy and wheat free and do not take iodised salt what do people think is likely intake of iodine per day ? My gut sense is that you are not getting RDA? Happy for other views

Supplier of T3
Complained of tiredness for 40 yrs diagnosed as CFS but convinced Thyroid has a lot to do with it. Received radioactive Iodine 20 yrs ago made me worse. UK medical practitioners tell me blood test showing TSH T3 and T4 all within ranges but I am not satisfied. Discussed T3 with consultant at Endocronology

Radioactive Iodine Therapy
2 weeks of strict diet of Iodine free. Then the Pill, sending home. Worried about my small dogs, 12lbs, one is 4yrs, and one 11. They sleep on my bed, every night. Should I board them or try to lock them in another room- very traumatic. I'm told to stay in for 7 days with minimal contact with people

Hyperthyroid and tremors
I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroid about 4 to 5 months back in a general annual check up with A TSH of 0.027 and FT3 and FT4 on an elebated side. I had my thyroid scan done which shows very less absorption of radioactive iodine. Doctor says my blood tests and scan do not correspond. I have tremors

Iodine deficiency
Just read the letter the endo sent to my gp. Says he wonders if i have iodine deficiency. Told me to continue to supplement iodine. Says all thyroid are normal except anti tpo which is slightly raised. I knew my antitpo were slightly raised. My tsh is 3. I have had nearly 2 years of diffuse hair loss

New graves. They want to remove thyroid.. need some help and advice x
Hello there I have just been diagnosed with graves. They are suggesting TT because they can't regulate my hyperthyroidism. I am not keen on surgery at all.. does if make life easier or not.. When I was first hypo I struggled so much with hair loss and low moods.. I would hate that to happen

Hashimotos?
Any feelings on my test results? Do I have hashimotos? Should I supplement with Iodine and what kind? I also have Rheumatoid Disease. On Sulfasalazine. I have read that sulfa drugs block iodine. Any thoughts? TSH - 2.680 uIU/mL (0.450 - 4.500) Thyroxine (T4)- 6.9 ug/dL (4.5 - 12.0) T3 Uptake

Radioactive iodine scan
So first appt at hosp went well I think, thought it was post partum thyroiditis and told me to reduce Carbmazole to 10mg until I do another blood test in three weeks as t4 is now 18 and was 33 a month ago? then can hopefully come off it. He wants me to do a radioactive iodine scan to rule out grave

Starting NDT after failed T4, T4+T3, and T3 only experiments
After being messed around by a TSH blood test wielding junior endocrinologist for 12 months I found a very experienced, up-to-date and respected endo who agreed to treat me based on my symptoms (hooray!!) as long as I committed to adhering to a series of T4 / T3 experiments. Which I did, over a period

Newly misdiagnosed?
Picked up sick note and also copies of my last 3 blood tests. On 7/6: TSH 4.85 mU/L (0.3-4.2) Only other oddity was my RBC was very slightly over range 4.96x10x12/L (3.8-4.8) - but everything else was okay (and I'm quite familiar with interpreting FBC because of B12 absorption problems). No ferritin
