Experiences with

5HTP

I have also started taking 5HTP supplement. Has anyone tried the 5HTP - if so did it work, how long did it take to notice any positive effects and what was the dosage you tried? I am finding so many migraines disabling and am struggling to stay in work or have a 'life'.

Also has anyone tried 5htp to lessen migraine attacks, it cant be taken with most migraine meds i know as its very dangerous like ssri's or triptans u can only take 5htp wen u not on any meds that affect / increase serotonin as it can have serious interactions.

I have told my GP about taking 5HTP, and he seemed OK with that. Clearly it hasn't cured my migraines, but it has given me some respite from this debilitating condition, which you can only understand if you have experience of migraines.

I bought this months ago and never used it due to taking prescription drugs, I'm off all those nasty meds now and have just come across some reviews about 5HTP with really good feedback, It has also said "good for Fibromyalgia" Which I didn't know what I purchased them....I got them to help me sleep

been feeling weird,my head feel like its going to explode ,no pain,just a funny sensation,feel on edge,and jump at the slightest sound.head light,heart racing at times,I know its anxiety,and I need meds,but I cant take them,I am too afraid.I have sertraline,zispin,mianserin,lyrica,st johns wort,and 5htp

hi i have been taking 5HTP for about a week now just wondering if anyone else has or is taking it to help with sleep and when you would or do take them and are they helping? thanks xx

Hi My name is gemma and i have been suffering from anxiety now for quite a few months , i have been to the doctors and they prescibed me some tablets but i took the 1st one and it made me feel ten times worse and i just couldnt carry on with them . i have now got some valerin and 5htp tablets from holland

Took my 5HTP this morning but have had a horrible day of anxiety. I am trying to improve my presentation skills. I'm delivering 5 courses next week & was practising with a couple of colleagues & my anxiety was through the roof.

"It's a suppliment to target muscoskeletal health, fatigue and stress" It's got 5HTP, magnesium, glucosamine sulphate, chondroitin and malic acid in it. Am always a little sceptic about things that are supposed to help as soo many are rubbish , but this actually looks reasonable. x

I am also on 100mg a day of 5HTP, I have just bought a new pack which also contains valerian root .I take this with a 1000mg omega 3 fish oil capsule. I was on homeopathic Phosphorous but after 4 months didn’t really seem to be having much affect.

Hi all, I was researching something yesterday and came across reviews on a natural supplement called 5htp. Users rave about it for use in a variety of conditions including fibro and depression.

Can anyone please tell me if it is safe to take 5HTP for depression and anxiety with renal failure Ive looked all over the internet and cant get a straight answer. Many thanks Sandie.

I have been taking 5htp from holland and barret for the last two months and have noticed an improvement in my energy levels and I'm not feeling as depressed as I was. I take on in the morning and one at night. I have also found they help me to fall asleep easier, sleep deeper and for longer.
