After 10 years of babysitting a small tumor in my brachial plexus area, I got the best news ever yesterday during my visit to M D Anderson. My MRI showed no tumor! I’m still in disbelief. I asked if this means I’m NED and they said yes. I never thought it would happen. I’ve been on Ibrance 100 and Letrozole for the last 4 1/2 years after some progression on tamoxifen. First diagnosed back in 2001 and had mastectomy, chemo, radiation and hormone therapy. Thought I was ok until 2015 when it came back. So will continue on my meds and be scanned again in 6 months. So there’s always hope!

fantastic news ! Thank you for posting
Great News! Thanks for posting. I’m curious, have you always been with MD Anderson? I am considering a consult with them but it’s several states away for me. Just curious.
I’ve been with M D Anderson for 10 years. Started going there when I had my recurrence since I was told it was very unusual to have it come back in that area. I hoped at first that it could be removed surgically but after seeing about 6 of their specialists it was decided to be too risky since the tumor was in a bundle of nerves. So it’s been treated systemically instead. I’m about a 6 hour drive away but for me the trip is worth it. After initial visits I’ve only had to go twice a year. I also have a local oncologist.
That is great news. Gives us all hope!
I am so happy for you
Thank you all!
Great news, so happy for you!!
Always encouraging to hear news like that. It's interesting to know that disease can continue to disappear at four years plus. I sure wish that this had been explained to me in the beginning of my treatment. After about 6 months my oncologist was "Well I was hoping for more.."
like there wasn't going to be any "more". No proof yet, but I believe my bones have continued to hear two years in. Scans in a few weeks.
I’ve just been hoping to be stable or even have my tumor a millimeter or 2 smaller. Did not even know there was any chance it would disappear. I’m still in a state of disbelief!
absolutely fantastic news. God bless
