I've been on Exemestane and Everolimus from February 24, and had PET/ CT this week. Good news no new mets — no progression. Decreased activity in most tumors overall scan is much better than 4 months ago 😊
Ca15.3 down from 108 (2/7/2020) to 43 (5/20/2020), blood test very good!
I've been on 7,5 mg Everolimus from the start as Onc thought that if it was working why risk more side effects.
I do get mouth ulcers sometimes, but is manageable! I take CBD/THC oil, green juice every day, supplements...I don't know what is helping but I don't have any nausea, appetites is normal!
My main problem is that my face is breaking out and I’m getting hives!
I am very happy for the good results but the hives are very uncomfortable and annoying!
My oncologist says to take Zyrtec which I was taking one in the morning and evening I take Zyrtec or Benadryl (helps sleep) but it helps little for hives!
Has any of you who have similar skin problems found something that is helping, any tips?

Hi Sebina, I’m on Everolimus (10mg) and monthly Faslodex shots. I too have face hives from Everolimus. In fact, I just posted the other day to ask if anyone else has had same problem. My face has gotten scaly and red and feels like its on fire.
I sent my onc pictures of my face. She thought it was an allergic reaction. She said to hold on Everolimus to see if rash will go away.
We meet in person on June 2. She told me to take Benadryl which i started yesterday. It helped a little with the itchiness. My doctor friend (a high ranking internist) also concurred my rash/hive is allergic reaction. She told me to apply hydrocortisone which brought some relief.
I noticed my hives/rash had flared up when I went for a walk last week during a sunny day without sunscreen. My doctor friend said the sun probably aggravated it. And said “this is a solar dermatitis that is sensitive to the sun but in some way enhanced by the drug.”
So, please use a sunscreen or a brimmed hat when in the sun.
I would send pictures to your doc.
I am happy you had a great scan. ❤️. I don’t know anything about those two drugs but I would ask your pharmacist about the things you take as two could be interacting with each other.
Good news on your scan!! I broke out in a rash on my lower back, stomach & shoulders. My onc wasn't sure what caused it but I think it was the Zometa. He wants me to see dermatologist if it happens again. For the awful itch I patted on apple cider vinegar (the one with the Mother) I let it dry then used hydrocortisone cream. It helped pretty well. Hope you find something that helps.
I talked to the doctor and showed him the pictures couple of days ago when we discussed the scan. he didn’t seems to worried just told me to take Zyrtac or Xyzal ☹️! he didn’t even say it was a side effect of medication!
I take antihistamines every day and it helps a little! yes, the heat is also irritating, in fact it doesn’t have to be the sun. I notice hives tend to break out when my body temperature rises! if I do something at home (Exercise or vacuum...) I start to feel like the needles are stinging me grrr!
If it gets worse I will go to a dermatologist to see what he will say!
Hurray for good results. I can't help much with the other problems, however I think Sarah had the right idea about consulting a pharmacist. They know drugs inside out and very often can help. Hope it settles down.
