Remission or not

Hi Ladies, my PET CT shows nil metabolic activity in my 4 mets. The nodes are much smaller and in fact the report only mentions soft tissue thickening but no SUV. They are not lighting up. The reports says excellent response to treatment.

Can these be scar tissue? I am very confused and my doctors appointment is after a week. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks a lot. I am told my treatment needs to continue.

Sensai7! My gosh, that's great news!! Congratulations!

And, yes (?), I think that could be scar tissue. I know with bone mets they mention "sclerotic" areas, which are places where the tumors have healed...Maybe the "thickening" is similar, but in soft tissue?

Sensai, when you take a break from celebrating ( :) ), would you mind sharing your treatment/how long? Are (I mean WERE!!) your mets only in lymph nodes?

Hi LynFish, I have ER PR positive HERS negative Endometroid Adenocarcinoma. The reason I joined the BC group was because my doc told me its very similar to BC and treatment too is similar. After recurrance Ivwas initially on Megace. After 10 months it stopped working. I had mets to my supraclavicle lymph node, supradiaphragmatic lymph node, on the left ureter blocking urine flow and in the outer end of the vagina. Fortunately the vaginal met could be biopsied and was found to have MSI high/ MMR D. This meant that it would respond to immunotherapy which started 4 months back. I am on Keytruda.

Thanks! Looking for some clarity as my treatment is very expensive and its getting tough to pay for it now.

I’m only 5 months in treatment and don’t feel qualified to comment on your question.

I did, however, want to congratulate you on your results! Wow: isn’t this what we’d all like to hear?!? So pleased for you and hope your oncologist can clarify your question next week.

All best,

Red

Wonderful results! Hope this continues! Amazing!

This is so lovely to read and you must feel relieved. My Oncologist uses the words satisfactory stable. I have HER2 Neg, stage 4 Metastasis in my pelvis, spine, shoulder blades and skull. I also have a small amount in my lung and lymph nodes. When he says these words to me it’s like a weight lifted off my shoulders......for now. So, great news for you and keep, doing what you are doing, it must be right. Best wishes
