MBC new with Ibrance

Hi I thank God for letting me read and access this community. I was diagnosed with breast CA last Nov. 2008 Stage 3C . I went through the usual surgery, chemo therapy, radiation and tamoxifen for 5 years. Not until I’m Aug 2013, bone mets started at the right pelvis, became stage 4. I had XGEVA shots, Xeloda oral chemo, aromasin. Again, in Feb 2017 bone mets progressed to the spine, pelvis area regressed. I resume XGEVA, with additional Faslodex. After a year, had my recent Petscan, cancer cells seen in some more areas of the spine and lymph nodes in patatracheal grew 6cm. Had to consult another Onco, then introduced me to Ibrance together with Faslodex and XGEVA. I’m on my first cycle now. All your comments and insights in this site are very helpful to me.

I was on Ibrance letrozol and xgeva for 18 months. Tumor markers and pet scan showed new lesions. Doctor stopped letrozol this week and added Faslodex. I will have markers done next month. Hope they are going down. Not sure if I will have any side effects.

I just joined this site tonight and I can see it is going to help me. I don't think my kids and husband really want to know how I feel. They want to pretend things are normal. So I don't say much. But talking to people in same situation is going to help. I hope it helps you too.

I have been on Letrozole and Ibrance 13 cycles. Feel really pretty good. Just fatigue. Do take with food. You will do awesome!

Thank you. I did notice if I don't take as soon as I eat breakfast I feel nauseous. I just started Ibrance with xgeva and a new injection called Faslodex. Hope it stops the tumors from growing.

That's what I am taking now hope it slows things down.

Hi Ertfight - Wow, you are an inspiration, going at this for 5 years and still going strong! I have to say that, after 35 months (so far) in Ibrance, I am a huge fan. After having some initial progression (throughout the bones - 7 months after starting Ibrance...), my tumors have all cooled off significantly, i.e. uptake rates < 2.0 (except for one on my sacrum...which I'm focusing on right now and hope to cool off, too! :) ). It really has been remarkable, so I am optimistic for you and hope it does really good things for you...Best wishes and take care...

Hi LynnFish,

I already finished 3 cycles Ibrance - Palbociclib 125mg first, then lowered to 100mg. I take it with Faslodex every 28 days and my XGEVA every 3months. Recent MRI showed stable condition though there are few new upticks. Maybe the MRI was done to soon. For my 4th cycle my Onco and I decided to go back to 125mg, try again if it would be more effective , though we will Closely monitor my CBC counts. As to side effect, it’s really my mouth sores.

I hope you’re doing well. God bless us all.
