Xeloda

hi everyone- my dad had some small progression on Lynparza for the BRCA2 gene and he now will be moving on to Xeloda. We are quite nervous as this is his first true chemo. He was on ibrance and Lynparza previously. Appreciating all words of wisdom as we start this next drug/ journey.

I start Xeloda next week, this is my fourth new treatment in 2 yrs. I'm a healthy 67 yr old with breast cancer. ER/PR+ & HER2-+.01, since 05/2018. Was ned for 3 1/2 yrs. before it came back in 7/2022. How has it worked for some of you?

Has anyone been on Xeloda more than three years. If so, how many milligrams did you take a day. What were your side effects. Thanks.

Does anyone have experience with this drug ?? It seems my pickray mutation is gone so not putting me on truqap..Thank you all you lovely warriorsRox

I’ve just finished my round 2 of Xeloda and wondering how others manage taking it at the same time every day. My schedule is somewhat variable.. eg sometimes I need to eat dinner early and be somewhere; ditto for breakfast.

I’m on Xeloda right now but thinking it’s my last option before IV. Mary 🙂

Also, I read that Xeloda might be able to get through the brain/blood barrier. Has anyone taken Xeloda with brain Mets? Many thanks. Helen

He also rejected radiation and gave me Xeloda. I live in Toronto. Maybe the approach to treatment in America is different?

hi , anyone had radiation to liver mets while on xeloda ? Did you stop xeloda during radiation

On first week xeloda and I get severe neck and face pain once a day..I take a klonpin and tylenol and relieved in half hour..I don't know if anyone else has it.ROX

My onc switched me to Xeloda so I have a newly shipped package of Piqray from Novartis that I’d be happy to send if someone needs it.

The next line recommended for my Mom is Xeloda and I’m praying she also does well with this one. She felt so well and energetic with Ibrance for over two years and then Faslodex for a year so I really hope this works well with few or no negative side effects for a long time.

I have tried other options before my onc is considering Enhertu such as Xeloda, Afinitor, Orserdu, Turqap and many other drugs that are available. I think you may need a second or third opinion. Before starting Truqap I consulted with 2 other oncologists.

Last check mom was er/pr + her 2 low that was last checked July 2023 Mbc 2020 She did ibrance and femara 2 years 9 months Anfintor and Faslodex 6 weeks Xeloda- present for 8 months . Last scans were not terrible. But mild progression in bones with 2 rib fractures .

Also did xeloda, verzenio , fulvestrant,arimidex to name a few. I don't know what could possibly be next but I have been on something this whole time and the thought of getting off is frightening. I did just find out I have and ESR1 mutation-- so Orserdu?? Just looking for any thoughts.

I have been on Verzenio, piqray, Xeloda and now Enhertu. I try to balance being hopeful and realistic. I don't believe there will be a cure in my lifetime but feel encouraged that new medications are being produced! My son is 12 and I would love to take him to college. 😘

My oncologist is concerned because I’ve been off chemo meds for so long but one of the side effects of Xeloda which would be next is diarrhea. Has anyone had similar issues?

I am now eating again and feel much better (I had other reasons), but she has ordered me back for new blood tests and wants me to change to Xeloda. I want a chance to get my appetite back up and eating normally before such a major change. Anyone else?

Anyone else have their t bili go up on xeloda ? I read this was a side effect ? thanks so much!!!

This first week I have some side effects: nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, dizziness and low blood pressure, mouth sensitivity among other side effects left over from Xeloda such as hand- foot syndrome. I am hoping taking Truqap will get easier as my body adjusts and that it will work for me.
