I am now 6 months into repeated symptoms. First one is sore penis and red glands - dr thinks it is balanitis. Kept mostly under control with Daktacort cream. Second symptom is 5 occasions of dark pee when dehydrated (all have happened after hot day, playing golf etc). I need to drink 2/3 litres of water to avoid it. On two occasions I think I have had blood in my pee, but all the tests (around 5) show no blood. One test showed an infection, the others not. I have had ultrasound to check for tumour or kidney stone - that was all clear. PSA level is very low 0.35. Seeing Dr on Tuesday as, if it is Ballanitis, that is persistent. Also wonder if I may be borderline diabetic and will ask for blood test for liver function too. Any thoughts welcome!
I am on warfarin, statins, allopurinol and omeprazole and have had 5 courses of antibiotics over the last 6 months as Dr originally thought it might be UTI then they thought possibly urethritis.

Thank you for your reply - very helpful. As far as water drinking is concerned, it doesn't feel like I am not drinking enough when I get episodes of dehydration. In order to avoid it I have to drink at least 2.5 litres of water during a 4.5 hour round of golf. Trouble is that the more I drink, the more I pee. The last time I was dehydrated after golf I still had a over a litre of water during the round, and it wasn't a hot day either - but that was still not enough
An HbA1c test will look at your glucose control. Urine tests should have picked up excess glucose being excreted by the kidneys. You might need to have a u & e blood test to look at your kidney function.
