Testicular Pain

I am exploring different groups looking for help.

I suffer from pain that radiates from my testicle into my stomach. Some times it is dull and annoying, while other times will double me over as if I had been kicked. I had my left one removed a few years ago for fear of cancer and now the same is happening to the right. The testicle is small and has hard lumps, but the Urologists refuse to provide any suggestions or help. They rather "monitor" or just write it off as calcifications were found in the left with no signs of cancer.

At this point I have asked if they can just remove it as I am done having children and already on HRT for Low T, only to be told that will never be an option. I have had pain blockers that only lasted a day or two.

Am I alone in trying to find a urologist that will listen and help? Does anyone else have anything similar?

They have not. The Uro doctors have told me everything from it is an old high school injury to it could be cancer but we will monitor. One promised my wife and I he would help us, only to give up after the third apt and numerous expensive tests. Some days, I feel like just stabbing a knife there and showing up at the hospital, saying now something is wrong fix it! (I won't...)

You are probably past this point so forgive me if so. But, have you looked into other possible causes ?

Some years ago I had a pain similar to what you describe.

it was described as a slight twist ?

And was the result of my bending and lifting as part of my job.

Job changed, pain reduced and now gone.

Worth a thought ?

Good idea for sure. I have had 2 ultra sounds and a MRI and no torsion or hernia was located. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I am experiencing a similar condition but a bit different. When we start foreplay with my wife, if she touches my testicles I feel discomfort but had never complained to a doctor.

Can this be a risk to my heath?

Please forgive me if this triggers anyone.

Are you a survivor of sexual abuse/assault? (You may not even remember.)

I was sexually abused by medical professionals at the age of 5. What happened to me was considered acceptable care.

What do you expect from a profession that in this day and age, considers intimate exams on anesthetized patients without consent acceptable? (Reference: nytimes.com/2020/02/17/heal... )

After that I never saw a doctor until my 40s (strictly to treat ADHD, NO preventative). A relative who was a doctor signed all my physical forms, wrote all my prescriptions, etc. My entire family accepted this as normal. In my mind, that meant that what ever happened to me must have been brutal. To this day, my mind has blocked it and I do NOT want to know what happened.

I get somatic pain in my right testicle. (Reference: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/233... ) Although genital somatic pain is common in sex abuse survivors, somatic pain can occur from any trauma.

The other thing is that testosterone can exasperate existing conditions, especially reproductive cancers. You may want to consider progesterone for HRT. It is an androgen, has all the good results of T without the negative effects. (Reference: bodylogicmd.com/hormones-fo... )

Wow ArchB. I am really sorry for what has been put upon you. I do not think my pain is anywhere close or related to anything you shared. The post makes me feel rather minimal in my pain. I very much want to find a way to end mine, I however cannot image the mental anguish you have or relate.

wetdad,

Thank you for the kind words. I don't know what happened and I am happy that way. My phobia has kept me out of healthcare all my life and I like it that way. As to my pain, it is not unbearable, it just happens every so often. I know what it is, ignore it, and it goes away in 15 minutes.

I have found it therapeutic fighting for the dignity of patients and fighting the medical establishment. I have seen words unique to me showing up in healthcare policies.

You can go to Mexico for an orchiectomy no questions asked. I have a transgender friend who has all her surgeries in Mexico. She pays cash, it costs 1/10 of what they charge in the US, and she does NOT need any letters from psychiatrists, proof she is trans, etc. Foreign medical tourism is very customer service oriented.

Another friend had her bottom surgery in Thailand, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. You get treated with dignity and get what you want.

There are a some US doctors that are known to castrate healthy men because their testosterone has caused side effects that have destroyed their lives; philandering, "roid rage," physical violence, etc.

Dr. Felix Spector of Philadelphia is known for doing voluntary castrations.

Could it be related to the Sciatic nerve. I am having some issues with Sciatica and i am getting some discomfort in the testicle area.

It is a good guess for sure. I have seen a pain management doctor and they gave me a block for that nerve that was to last a few months. It worked to numb everything for 2 days, but did not help with this pain. I have read up about a subset of men with Orchialgia and that seems the best description of the situation. My GP is again looking for alternative doctors to consult with. I did see a therapist to explore the trans route of having a more understanding doctor engaged. She is convinced the pain is real and not mental in nature. We both reached out to a local doctor in market that is known in the trans community and he told me that if I was not trans, he would not help. Really depressing most days.
