Too busy to come on for long yesterday. Into Aberdoom (again), to try and get this new contract phone sorted. I'm changing the Network from 02 to a new one called LifeMobile... was supposed to be cheaper, and really easy to keep my Mobile No - ha! This has been going on since 28th March & it's still not Ported over, so missing all my calls etc - flippin' pesky thing, wish I'd kept my old one now.
On a better note, it only snowed a bit last night, and has just about melted now, but still freezing here.
Well, I'm into day 15 and doing okay... um, we'll I hope so anyway. Have been reading up on the Internet about these vapor eCigs. It's very hit and miss with whether they are safe to use. Especially when they start talking about Formaldehyde, which is in the vapor! Feaked me out so it did.
So, what to do now? They were helping a lot for when the craving got a real hold of me, a few puffs on it stopped the feeling. Now I'm really bothered about using the thing again, or if I even should. Any suggestions or info' will be welcome. I'm maybe looking for an easy way out using these anyway. Perhaps cold turkey is the only safe way... I dunno. Meanwhile, still on the Gum, which is very good, but still craving that inhalation bit of smoking - oh dear, but I have to be honest.
Anyhow, still no faggies, so that's got to be good.
Hope Jillygirl and Sue have easier days... and hope to read your days news later.
Have you tried the inhalator, that's similar to the e.cig. I found it brilliant and I bought mine from Boots chemist as they did 2 strengths of cartridge :- 10mg. and 15mg. they also had offers on them quite regularly. feel better today thanks , think I have a slight cold. Hard to tell with this 1 lung job, whats normal ad what isn't.
Your doing fantastic keeping off those little white sticks.
Have a lovely day. xx
Thanks Jilly, I'll see if my local Chemist does them. Willing to try anything really. Glad yre a bit better today. It's really one day at a time for you isn't it. Try not to overdo things and get as well as you possibly can be. xx
Went to Fag ends today.Had the breath test.I was told I had a reading of a none smoker.
So it's working what I am doing but I still finding it hard.
I would recommend e cigs .Maybe their too good?
Thanks Kevin, yeah, I know how you feel. But you're Carbon Monoxide is virtually nil, & that's excellent! Going to try Jillygirl's suggestion. (See above comment). Maybe some of us are going to take a bit longer before we can get over the inhaling part
But, we're not smoking tobacco
.. it's a good start. Keep on keeping on huh. Thanks
Although the e-cigs have helped many of our members, until they have been tried and tested by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) then we cannot promote the use of them.
Formaldehyde is also just one of the many poisonous toxins that is found it in cigarettes too
If it is the inhalation part of smoking that you miss you could always opt for the inhalator as suggested by Jillygirl. Another suggestion (but not one containing nicotine) is to take the inside of a pen out, or even to use a large (fat) straw. This can give you the inhalation feeling. You could even try getting some 'Fisherman's Friends' and seeing if they may help.
You've come so far and the fact that you're into your 3rd week is fantastic, it would be such a shame to have a set back now. Keep up the good efforts
Kev123, well done on your reading of a non-smoker That's brilliant news The longer that you go without smoking, the easier it will become
Fisherman's Friends...cor - haven't had one of those for years! But I'll have a go.
(You never know), but I've no intention of smoking a ciggie. Just trying out anything that may help along the way. I am genuinely pleased that I haven't wanted to smoke a fag. It's the first time I've felt this way, unlike when I've gone a few days before. I think I was in mourning for them, and felt resentful and deprived. I just don't feel that way this time. And it feels good. But I do know how the little B----rs can get you, if we're not careful!
Really helpful folk on here though, no "ought to's" or "should's". Just real concern, smashing !
Hat's off for 15 days! Brilliant. I am hoping to get there, it's a week and nearly a day so far, counting them off.
Emjay's sucking suggestions have been good for me so far - thank you Emjay I have the inhalator, (and a patch) and think I have adjusted the sucking to a sort of chewing and sucking - this sounds ridiculous, but if it works, don't knock it I put in 1 cartridge a day, and it seems enough, but if I thought I needed more I'd use it, cut myself the slack I need to get through this. I am worried about starting on ecigs, I think I will get hooked by them instead!
I hope that you are feeling better jillygirl, and that cold has been knocked on the head.
Have a good smoke free evening everyone, however you do it
Thanks Betts,
First week for you gone- second coming up... great stuff!
I know what you mean about the vapor ciggies, it would be very easy to let them replace the tobacco cigarettes, that's not the way I want to go with this at all. So, I'm trying not to use them much. The white Mint Gum is really very good. I've found this the easiest so far.
I'm in this for the long run this time, no matter what... I just don't want to be a Smoker any more, so this is the only way to go... "Up and away to Freedom from Fags", sounds great to me.
