hi all it's been quite a while since i was on here. I have been following all your blogs and dipping in and out getting some inspiration to keep on going. I ve managed to quit now for 2, YES 2, whole months. it really, really does get easier....the only thing, to be honest is that I feel flat..I thought Id feel elated; I am proud and feel so much better and can actually join in the 'just dance' routines with my kids and, and lots of positive things. But why,( and I can hear that I m whining) do I feel blah? x
it's been a while....: hi all it's been quite... - Quit Support
it's been a while....
Aup Jane, its so lovely to see you again gal, and a massive big well done to you 2 whole months smoke free, thats just ace gal, it is
As for you feeling blah !! erm I'm not sure about that am sorry, erm you havent just court a chill have you ?? cos I think that most of us feel loads better for quitting
I will have a look through Emjay's blogs to see if I can find anything for you
Back soon, Pete
thank you Pete, I feel a pain moaning but sometimes you just need to tell someone who just may be going through the same thing.! I think that the change in lifestyle is more of a challenge than i realised,...no smoking, less alcohol, more walks, yoga, swimming trying not to compensate with snacking...., it's exhausting! but I wanted this so Im gonna stick at it!! x
I think the BLAH feeling is just a minor blip.
I felt really quite ill for a while after stopping and very restless but it is getting better and breathing fresh clean air is a new and welcome experience.
Don't worry, it just keeps on getting better as the blah disappears and the yippee kicks in.
Tom.
Thanks Tom, can't wait for my 'YIPPEE' to appear let alone kick in!! I ll keep you posted....x
Hiya Buddy, nice to see you again. 2 months is just fantastic!
I found that probably about 2 months in I got a bit down and I think a lot of people do. I think it's like a bereavement and something you just have to get through. The best thing to do when you're feeling like this is to come on the chat, moan about it and we'll try to cheer you up - it worked for me.
You are doing so well, don't let the buggers get you!
Thanks Andi, you're right I have been a bit down lately I think this frickin weather may have something to do with it too! but thanx for making it ok for me to have a moan on here..its so nice to chat to people that really get what you'tre going through.: )x
I'm with you on the weather too, certainly doesn't help on the feel good front, haha if ever you want to look on the miserable side of life I'm always here with a friendly wave
Know exactly how you feel. Starting my 10th week now and I feel no happier and no healthier than I did 10 weeks ago. I feel blah every day.
thanks sinfree, at least now I feel normal! I don't know what I was expecting from being smoke free but I thought I'd feel something. I'm gonna stick at it in the hope that eventually something will click and then I'll be the healthy happy smug type that i cant bear! lol
Thanks John, I realised after posting the picture that I must be so desperate for some
sunshine and a holiday!! like the rest of us!!! I ll keep going because I want to be the person I always wanted to be, and she s a non-smoker! x
Hello all. It's ages since I've been here - last summer sometime. Sad to say I lapsed back into the old smoking habit, but am planning to try quitting again from tonight. Wish me luck?
Finley2012, just give it anther go. Can't remember how many times I tried to give the evil weed the old heave ho. Tried everything, however I have decided this time I will really do it. Don't know why I feel different this time but I do. 9. weeks now, still think of fags quite a lot but thats just part of it. Well good luck this could be your time, we will all keep out fingers crossed for you.
