Hello everyone, I hope your day has had good moments in it. Mine has. However, this day I'm still a smoker, as I haven't been able to sit through the desire to feed this Nicotine Addiction yet. It's slowly dawning on me, that I may well have to put quite a bit more work and effort into dealing with these desires - of feeding this addiction. I know if I RESENT not being able to smoke, then I'm on a losing battle. It's going to take time to retrain my brain, to see it as a choice - my choice. Each time I light up... I let the addict in me win. So, how do I stop feeling resentful and deprived...? Well, this is what I'm trying to learn just now. I have to face the fear in me, and for me to face that square on - I need some more learning in me yet. I'll let you know how I'm doing 2morrow. Have a lovely evening everyone, wherever you are in your journey to freedom. it's still cold and snowing up here in the North East of Scotland, hope it's warmer for you folks in the balmy South! xx

Hey Gilly :) thank you for being so honest with us, and with yourself too :) I think quitting smoking is the hardest thing that I have had to do in my life !! and i really do admire people that do it :)

It seems to be a lot harder for some people than others, whether they've smoked 40 a day, or just 5 a day :o

What I do know is that you really have to want to quit, to get a chance of doing it :)

Take it easy for a few days now have a few rollies eh, relax a bit and build your strength up for next time :)

Sit yourself down, have a talk with yourself,

Ask yourself why you like smoking and the benefits of it !!

Write them down

Ask yourself why you want to quit smoking and the benefits of it !!

Write them down

Then when the later list is at least twice as long as the first list, then and only then, your ready to fight nic again :) :) and to give him ''HELL'' :) :)

Erm I dont know whether this helps you or not :o

I live in Derbyshire and its going to dump a load of snow on us tonight & tomorrow :( so thanks very much for sending it down here to us :P flippin love you too, typical flippin Woman, if she dosnt want something, she chucks it at us poor old blokes :o :| :D :D

Hoping to speak soon Gill, Pete xx :)

Thanks Pete, you do cheer me up. Yep, typical woman for sure - always dump it on the long sufferin' guy... ! But I come from not too far away from your neck of the woods... I'm a Lancashire Lass born n bred, even tho' I've been "up North" for 46 (very cold years). Onwards and upwards for another chance tomorrow, will stick around here for sure... just very fine folk. Night to ya, xx

I too am in Derbyshire Pete, just seen weather and think it may be a "duvet" day tomorrow although I am supposed to be going to Weston Park I think that according to the weather may not be possible. Just to say a bit thank you for your posts, when I feel like a cig (Day 4) I just go on the site and have a laugh and then the craving has gone. You, Madiman, Buttons52, Sue 52,Dawnlol, the Nunn, Jillygirl and everyone else have been a big inspiration and are better than any NRT treatment. :)

Just been to let the dog out and the wind is getting up and it is bitter so jimjams on and watch telly in front of fire. Have marked the days in my phone so if I feel tempted whilst out I can just look at it and say one more day of saying no to naughty NIC. I have tried on numerous occasions but this time it does seem easier, yesterday was a bit rough, but hopefully that was just a blip so I think everyone is right when they say that you have to be in the right frame of mood, I think the cancer scared me so much that was what I needed and then I read Jilly post and wham I don't want that!! Pete, You made me feel good saying "youngn" I am anything but, but it was nice :)
