Hi Aarvidi,

It sounds as though you are prepared to give up giving up which is fantastic news. So lets start off by taking it just one step at a time, and then together we'll build up the rest of your successful quitting journey :-)

I have a few questions to ask just so that we can build a bigger picture of your smoking history and help get you started;

1. How many do you smoke each day at the moment?

2. Have you ever tried to use any stop smoking aids such as nicotine replacement therapy (patches, gum etc)?

3.What is the longest time you have managed to quit for in the past?

4. What is your biggest reason for wanting to stop smoking?

As Lyndelou has suggested, remaining positive and remembering that you can do this is definately a step forward.

Welcome to our friendly online support community, we look forward to getting to know you!

I have smoked since being a teenager and am now in my 40's. Last month I read a book by Allen Carr called Easyway to stop smoking. It is an approach that gives you a different frame of mind to stop smoking. You don't feel deprived or as if you are giving up anything. Just by reading the book I managed easily to stop smoking, I accepted the withdrawal signs, didn't mope or crave madly for a fag, it gives you the courage to stop and also you don't stop smoking until you've read the book. I bought my copy off ebay second hand ... it was the best £2.50 I ever spent. I am already a non smoker and am enjoying being free from nicotine. My last smoke was 27th Feb and if it helps you too ...that would be great. Good luck with whatever method you try. All the best

hi aarvidi, every time you feel smoking just try to swallow a candy. Just don't eat/swallow candy a lot since its not good for your teeth. Smoking can also harm your teeth it will turn your teeth to be yellowish. quitting smoking is not just saving your lungs it also saves your teeth.
