Going strong still but struggling ( and confused!)

I have now been off cigarettes and vapes for a long time and NRT free for 2 months and all of a sudden I'm struggling so much.

im not going to lie, the enormous weight gain has not helped at all!

I've been tempted to go and buy a vape and all that has stopped me is the passage of time.

Hi Zai good to hear from you. Sorry you going through a bad patch, what you need to decide is are you craving for a cigarette or are you just feeling down and think you need a nicotine boost.May I suggest if its just a case of feeling depressed or even bored try and get your mind to think differently . Stay active as this will help you weight wise. Have a look at the links we have in the pinned posts,

If you decide to vape try low strength and try not to rely on it , you have got rid of the nicotine it would be a shame to rely on it again.

May be try a keep fit class , just remember if your busy and active it helps. let us know how you get on. 😊💖xx

Thank you for your encouraging words and tips.

I think that the prolonged use on NRT for me has caused the 'reward' pathways of my brain to repair slower than normal. It's almost like I'm always missing the 'thing' I look after to after doing anything (food, work, etc.)

I was hoping that this will change 😟

hi Zai just think how far you come . . . Don’t give up all the hard work you’ve done your doing great maybe go for a walk with some music on . . .you could even try nicotine gum lowest nicotine ? As for the weight gain when I stopped I put on 3 stone but managed to get it down I’ve still got to lose a stone I actually found I do like to stay active 😂 anything to keep you preoccupied dancing cleaning walking shopping . Keep going you will get there you done great so far xx😊

Hi Za_i, I'm sorry to hear that your struggling at the moment, but if you think its best for you to start vaping again for a while, cos its far better than smoking eh 👍😀you can get zero nicotine vape fluid, or if you think it maybe the hand to mouth habit bit of it, then just cut a plastic drinking straw in half and try sucking at it like you would a ciggie, if you see what I mean. Maybe try that before you start with the vape eh 👍😀

thank you all for your advice and encouragement. In spite of my moaning, I'm holding strong 💪 still climbing the walls but also reminding myself that 15 months is a long time to throw progress away
