Here I am on Day 4 already!!!!! Yay!!!! No slips so for for me or the hubby. (At least none he has admitted to... lol)
I don't know if it is because I have my head screwed on differently this time but it seems easier so far... We haven't argued apart from the little blip we had before bed on day 1! The house is a lot more relaxed.
It's very strange that my sense of smell has improved so much already. Washing first lot of clothes since Sunday and the ones at the bottom of the basket from before quit date stink of smoke! YUCK!
Had my 2nd Smoking Cessation meeting on Wednesday and gave a CO2 reading of 0 so all is good. Even my Mum didn't have a cig the whole time I was with her yesterday, bless her... Bet she would have killed for one once I left! lol
I know that it will get harder over the weekend, as hubby doesn't work them and have the kids to deal with as well. I am not going to get complacent, just keeping busy and avoiding coffee as this seems to be one of my triggers...
I made Cheese Scones and a Lemon Meringue Pie on Wednesday morning and yesterday I made more scones and a Victoria sponge... Unfortunately have now run out of flour and not pay day till next week... Hmmph.
Suppose I better busy myself with the dreaded house work now....

Keep going you will do it. I have tried on numerous occasions but on Day 5 now, and like you seems a lot easier this time. I am sure that positivity helps, I have had a health scare and this has made me realise that I need to stop and that was the trigger I needed. My hubby still smokes but send him outside hopefully he will stop soon but not ready yet and its no go unless you are ready. I find that when I have a craving I come on this site and it helps me to focus again. Keep going and congrats to you and your hubby
Sorry bout your health scare hun, hope everything ok now. x
It is really strange that this message board talks about smoking constantly but when I have read the posts I don't need a cig... You would think that it would have the opposite effect...
It will make it harder for you with your other half still smoking but remember that you are strong and you can do it... Just hope he doesn't huff if you start telling him 'no chance' cos he stinks of smoke... Actually that might be an incentive to get him to quite...!!! :0 lol
I think we are both fab for getting this far... Bring on the weekend!!!!
Gateshead born and bred here! Isn't it a small world??
I probably won't be able to get on here over the weekend as hubby usually pinches the laptop... I am archaic and don't have an Iphone or anything yet so will update again on Monday...
Well done Geordie, you are doing great and yes maybe you do have your head screwed different ,as I believe that is where we need the most work. Have a great day and lovely weekend jan
Lol. I don't know how I managed it either John, I have always had between 2 and 4 in other attempts too... might have been because I had been sequestered away in my kitchen all day before... And there is very little traffic in my area at that time of day as well.
I am going to try and keep up a positive outlook over the weekend... What weekend?? It's just another 2 days and already done 4!!!
