Quitting Juul

I quit Juul 2/3 weeks ago and I have been experiencing some intense withdrawals with anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Are there any surviving juul quitters that can relate in their experience?

Welcome to quit support jbc87, we dont get many members who have been using juul

however we would recommend try to quit as you would with ordinary tobacco use. We have lots of information on the pinned posts to help. Whatever method you try remember to drink plenty of water an try some deep breathing exercises to help your lungs heal.

I have had a quick search and found this site which may be of interest to you.

I will assign you a progress badge once you let us know your exact quit date. :) xxx

Hi jbc87,Welcome to Quit Support.

As jillygirl mentions we recommend quitting the juul as for all the other nicotine dependencies.

May I suggest you read the pinned posts where you will find hints on how to cope with anxiety and panic attacks which can be quite common withdrawal symptoms.

You will find the posts to the right of the page or at the bottom, depending which device your are using.

Good luck with your quit.

Hi jbc and welcome to Quit Support

Well done for making this great decision for a healthier future👍🏼

We have to learn new ways to cope with our emotions and what you’re experiencing is unfortunately very common when quitting nicotine.

We need to replace the happy hormones with something else. Many members have found exercise really helps.

You are doing really well and can be very proud of yourself.

As the ladies have said already, there’s lots of good info in the pinned posts.

Good luck and stay close🙂xx

@jillygirl I used juul to quit my 10+ year cigarette habit then heard all the news and decided to quit cold turkey. I didn’t know the panic attacks were withdrawals or what it was really until I noticed they started happening when I quit.

Thanks everyone for the support this! The quit has definitely taken a toll on my mental health.

Hi jbc, I just wanted to say, keep this forum close for support, it helps to know you are not alone and help and an ear is always close.

You have done so well - remember by week 4 you should be well over the withdrawal symptoms. Since you stopped, your body began to heal and your lungs will become much clearer because of stopping. Think of all that lovely money you are saving - what treat are you going to buy yourself with the savings you have made? After my first year I was able to buy a nice red Ferrari. Well not a Ferrari but certainly a nice low mileage Mini Cooper, also red. My wife and I had a problem at home where the ceiling fell in on us in the breakfast room. This caused much damage and needed a new ceiling and then a full redecoration. The point of the story is that when we both smoked, after 6 months of redecoration the room would be stained a light golden brown, where the only way to remove it was with a washing up paste and hot water. This time, nothing, not a hint of a mark anywhere - and just think, if smoking does this to my walls and ceiling and furniture, what must it do to my lungs and clothes! Good for you, keep going, freedom is in sight and trust me, you will never go back. Kind regards J

Just a quick update: thought I developed an anxiety/panic disorder and depression and was subscribed lexapro. My mind and body were rejecting it and making my symptoms worse. Read the symptoms of withdrawals that you guys led me to and decided I could do this the natural way or at least try. So going to exercise more, take better care of myself and go to therapy. After 6 days i consulted my psych and she gave me the okay to stop. Hopefully I’ll be on my way to recovery!

I took melatonin last night to help with my sleep and woke up at 2:30am with the worst vertigo I’ve ever experienced in my life. I feel so uncomfortable in my life I sometimes think it’s easier just to go back to my juul to deal with my feelings than to go through them.

I think we all felt uncomfortable in the beginning jbc but hang in there💪

It would be easier to go back to your Juul but the easy way out is not the right way and you know this.

It can be painful to deal with your emotions but that’s not a bad thing.

When does your therapy begin coz this will really help to talk about your feelings. I think you’re doing great and you can be very proud of yourself👍xx

I’ve had 2 sessions so far. It was hard to find a therapist in my insurance network. I’ve asked for 2 sessions this week. I have one today and one on Friday.

Dear jbc, congrats on your decision to be smoke free!😁 . quitting this deadly addiction is far from a walk in the park .many of us go through anxiety, which may or may not lead to depression. In which case a visit with your doctor is essential. The good news is all of this we can overcome. They become things of the past , as we move forward with help and support into non smokers. Chin up❗ stay strong😊💪 it gets easier❗👍
