3 weeks today

Had the occasional vape in the beginning but mostly cold turkey

I have no cravings at all but still feel really awful with insomnia and constipation

I wish I could really start to cough up some of the gunk I cough s little bit and it is always flecked with Brown or very dark brown

I don’t expect to feel like an athlete and think probably after smoking for 50 years it will take weeks and months ?

I can smell and taste a little better but chest def tighter

Would appreciate anyone else’s experience

Hi Maison, super well done for that 3 weeks winners' badge💪👏. I see that little things are beginning to get better, like being able to smell and taste better. As you say, when we have smoked for 50 years , healing takes time. 😉

Not everyone coughs up a lot of "gunk" we are all different.

Please make sure that you are still drinking lots of water💦💧. Even the constipation should right itself. If it doesn't Maison, I suggest you seek medical help.

Keep in touch hun.💖XXX

Hi Maison, I didn't cough up any gunk, the body deals with it in its own way although I did suffer horribly from insomnia.

Well done Maison, 3 weeks smoke free is brilliant👍🏼

I thought when I stopped smoking I would feel better but unfortunately it takes time for our bodies to adjust. Please be patient with yourself and these awful side effects will pass. I know it doesn’t feel like it at the moment but your body and mind are healing. Hang in there for better days ahead xx

Thankyou so much

My psychiatric nurse says 5-6 weeks often sees an improvement with any addiction and nicotine is on a par with heroin and cocaine

I think I had this idea that I would stop and feel great after a couple of weeks !!

No desire to smoke at all so that’s great

Thanks for all your support
