Hi Everybody! I am in the 4th day, 12 hours. After many tries & failing, this is probably the best thing that happened. I had a cold that lead to the worst case of bronchitis imaginable. I couldn't talk on the phone without spasms of coughing and bringing up gunk. 2 rounds of Antibiotics and Steroids later I upped & quit. My grands tell me my mouth and breath smells like an ashtray! I'm only Day 4 and 12 hours later, I'm able to shop without buying a pack & am resolved to making it this time all the way instead of gradual. I'm coughing & bringing up gunk & can't seem to focus/concentrate while driving. Just one question: How long will my breath and mouth stop smelling like an ashtray? I wish everyone fighting the urge and winning every day.

Hi PerryTorre. Well done for your decision to quit👏 and of course for your 4 smoke free days.
Welcome to Quit Support.💙
It’s never easy to quit but it’s easier with a little support.💪
The fact that you are coughing up gunk,is good. It's your body cleansing itself.
I don't know how long it is before we lose that smokers' smell! I imagine that you, like me, have smoked most of your life, so it takes time for this cleansing process,it takes patience to quit and lose all those tell tale smells. I suggest, in the meantime, you try using a mouthwash and some new perfume!
Please read the pinned posts,📌 there is lots of information there. You will find the posts to the right or at the bottom of your screen depending which device you are using.
May I suggest you drink plenty of water💧💦 to flush out the toxins and keep yourself hydrated.
If you feel you need any more help please don’t hesitate to ask. There is always someone here.
I will put your quit date as 12/08/2019 if this is incorrect please let us know.I will assign you a winners' badge and add you to our database.
Good luck with your quit.🍀🚭xx

Phone numbers, or personal pictures. (If in doubt leave it out).

Thanks Admins for the warm welcome. Am taking it one day at a time. I've been using Wellbutrin 300mg about 2 weeks prior to stopping. I've had plenty of time to change what was my triggers to light up. I'm still battling one & that is being on the balcony of my home. I'm feeling shaky, can feel the stress in my shoulders/back of neck & pushed off 2 cravings since yesterday. I'm not going to keep mentioning coughing until I no longer am. Am using a phone app that's a quit meter. It's easier than counting how many days/hours have passed since my quit date. I'm more focused on how many days/hours have passed and staying positive that I'm going to get through the physical withdrawal as I'm so mentally prepared. It's encouraging to read people's postings on pages in this forum and individual journeys. XO
