I woke up this morning to a text message from a very dear friend. “Heat attack, 2 stents, at the hospital.”
That was all the message said and it came in at 5:30 am. I am off work today and so I didn’t wake up myself till 6:30. I prayed.
Found out he’s “ok”. I asked casually, so, can we stop smoking now? He responded that he quit at 12:30 AM officially.
My friends birthday was just yesterday. I’m glad he has had a wake up call to quit. He has a daughter, she’s early 20’s and has already lost her mother.
He’s talked about quitting for a while and has asked me about my quit along the way. Saying how he’s been feeling badly and knows he needs to quit.
Quitting is oh so hard. But when it is time to wake up, cling to whatever is necessary to quit. I think of jillygjrl often and her story.
We all have to quit for ourselves, we have to want to quit. Use whatever means is necessary for your quit.
Let’s not put our family thru our nonsense because we think we are untouchable.
Happy Friday quitters!
