Have put on half a stone. Am not feeling very motivated with exercise either. Cold winter nights and all that. After a long day at work I just want to curl up on my sofa.

Am gaining weight

Better than smoking Wendy. If you do snack a lot stick with fruit, nuts, carrot sticks and savoury stuff. How about an exercise bike at home. Well worth it. Or even one of those stay fit home videos.
3 months wow. Keep going. This is your new life!

Hi Wendy. Well done on 3 months. Don't worry too much about the weight so much. Losing that will be far easier than quitting smoking and you've done that
Hi Wendy,
Don't worry about exercising for now. I think I went off it in the first months . My body was pretty exhausted. I gained 10 lbs.. I refuse to step on the scale anymore. I'm focusing on how I feel and cutting out sugar. Sugar was the reason I put on 10 lbs 😡Grrrr. Have you ever had your thyroid checked??? Mine went low after I quit.. apparently a pretty common occurrence after quitting and that will make you feel exhausted and put on weight. You're doing great staying off those killer cigarettes.. keep posting! xx

Hi Wendy, you can always lose a little bit of weight. My plan is to try and enjoy myself and eat whatever i want (within reason) while i am trying to give up, and then when i have 3 months quit under my belt, thats when i am gonna start to try and lose the weight!
I know its hard but a little bit of weight is better than 1 cigarette
Keep smiling and things will get better, promise xx
3 months is fantastic and you've only put on half stone, gaining weight is better for you than smoking and if eating helps enjoy it!! I put a stone on swooped fags for mars bars!! But it stopped me from smoking just got to shift the weight!! 😀😀
Hi Angeline,
I see you're almost at 2 years... wonderful🌹

Yes I know !! Never thought I would be able to get to a year let alone 2!
Your a year well done hopefully your feeling a lot better 😀Xx
Thanks Angeline😊After a hard quit, I'm doing really well. Just have to watch the alcohol... one drink only but I'm okay with that. Hope your day is a good one🌻🍁🌾🍂

Congrats Wendy on 3 months quit, great job👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
A little extra weight is a small price to pay for healthy lungs and maybe try a walk on your lunch break. Keep up that great quit and be proud🚭👍🏼😊

HAYYYY Wendy, huge CONGRATULATIONS on gaining weight gal
and look at you gooooo, 3 months quit now tooooo
am just loving it
As for exercising, Me thinks I'd best do a bit of that myself and flippin scarper
of course you could always chase me cos that would be good exercise eh

A friend of mine who quit over 20 years ago asked me.. if smoking was such an appetite suppressant then how come all smokers aren't skinny? I was stumped! It made me realise how much I'd continue to eat even when I wasn't hungry still. Thats what started my health and fitness journey 3 years ago. Unfortunately, as I was telling Maggy here a few weeks ago smoking is the last thing in my lifestyle to go. I somehow adopted all of the other healthy changes and added smoking back into it. It just doesn't fit anymore and it has to go! Hang in there xxx
