Sleeping marathon

OK - I'm at 30 days on my Cold Turkey quit (smoking and alcohol) and I'm sleeping like it's an Olympic event!  I'm not drooping with fatigue, but could easily have several naps during the day, despite having got 7 - 8 hours sleep during the night!  Finding it difficult to motivate myself to get going on anything, although once I get started, I'm fine. Is this "normal"?? I'm turning the afternoon nap into a fine art here. I'm also farting for Australia at the moment! Glad I live alone, although the dogs are giving me some pretty filthy looks about the wind problem :-/ 💨😴💨😴

LMAO..... So it's not the cows causing a hole in the ozone it's you moonweaver 😂😂

Your poor dogs😟😊😊

Yep it's quite natural what you're experiencing but fortunately, for the dogs, it will go away 😊

Great quit by the way😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🚭🚭🚭🚭🚭

Thank you! Lol! It's a bit disconcerting when you have to go out in public, mind you.....Control is everything :-) Just got to try and stay awake now so that I can feel as if I've done something useful today (stayed awake) Onwards and upwards (with the aid of dark chocolate) :-) 🍫🍫🚭🙃

ooooh dark chocolate is extremely useful in combating the cravings, well it helps :) but careful on eating too much or like me you could say to hell with any weight gain, health far more important and diet can be dealt with later! point that I am now - well now just trying to not gain anymore! :)

I'm using Champix and blamed that for excess wind but have found this seems to be a common sympton no matter what method you use for quitting so reckon it's our bowls starting to adapt without the 4,000 plus nasty chemicals of smokiing.

Seems to be the same with fatigue but I'm starting to find more energy now but could always have slept for England so that's a slow one for me.

Well done on getting to four weeks, keep going and have a good look around on this site, loads of useful info and lovely people, and a bloody good place to come if you get any urges as by time you've finished having a read, posting replies etc the craving has gone! doesn't work same way with chocolate tho :)

I think any weight gain from the dark chocolate has got to be better than what I was doing to myself when I smoked.  Also, not drinking is massively reducing calorie intake too, so I reckon the chocolate can stay for now! :-)  It works.  As you so rightly say, weight gain can be addressed later, although I'm making sure I'm still walking heaps every day with the dogs (they won't let me get away with NOT taking them!)

Pretty sure the fatigue and farts are all to do with detox - bit of a shock for the system, giving up booze and smokes cold turkey, both at once, so not surprised I've been getting 'symptoms'.  As I see it, the sleeping can only be a good thing and assist in the healing, just as long as I don't do it whilst driving or talking to someone at work, for example!

I find this site extremely useful and it's so good to get on somewhere that is not full of judgemental people who haven't got the faintest idea about how addictive nicotine is. :-)

If it's any consolation I put on 28lbs....🙀 I had the motivation to quit cigs. Now I just need the motivation to lose my lard arse😟🤐😂😂

It's that good ole motivation thing again! LOL!!  I'm hoping the calories I don't take in because of not drinking will compensate a bit!.....Maybe....plus walking two manic dogs (55kg combined weight) at a sort of slow gallop might help too! :-)
